I wonder if people voting for Trump realize they are nominating the real life embodiment of an internet Troll.
Everything Trump says, all his jabs and short retorts in interviews… all of this… mirrors exactly the methodology and behavior of the Reddit and YouTube comments trolls.
Who on this earth other than a troll responds to questions on POWs with: “I like people that weren’t captured”.
The longer the mainstream candidates stay down in the polls the better. After a while, it’s going to leave an indelibly poor impression of Bush/Walker. And, after a while, the inevitable negative questions no campaign wants to answer will arise. Even Romney didn’t suffer this level of indignity during the Republican primary.
Remember when bush whined that being president was hard work? The Donald has yet to find out the campaigning is hard work and not simply a series of arm waving tirades to acolytes and a succession of Tweets.
I agree. The so-called “establishment” candidates are being destroyed by Trumps accession. The GOP has lost the ability to control anything. The pundits/Republican strategists still ranting about this being another case of “Cain and Bachmann” or “summer doldrums” are making fools of themselves. Trump is the Republican id. Trump is saying everything the walking brain dead GOP base voter believes. Trump goes as far as he wants to go.
I’m glad to see all of them sinking like stones none more than Jeb
Walker’s the one whose downward trajectory fills me to the brim with girlish glee. I expect that he’ll bounce back up before very long, but for now… 15 to 9 to 6! Everybody dance now!
That’s a really good point. Romney consistently polled at number one or two, rarely even in third place. Gingrich or Santorum or Cain or whomever would overtake him for a few weeks, say something ridiculous, and then Romney would pop back to number one. Trump says something ridiculous and picks up 1-5% of support.
Trump is a fad. A perfectly timed fad that is killing the Republican Party. Like Carson is convenient to ashamed but closeted racists. And Fiorina supporters because any woman but Hillary for the haters on the right.
Trump is willing to represent the crazed, mostly because no one else will have him but also because it’s such an open space. He rambled over Cruz and Christie before he had his first bagel. He does actually look better next to a doofus like Walker and a weasel like Paul.
I’m sticking with my call that Trump isn’t so spectacular as his rivals are completely unspectacular. JebBush is a Bush, he’s DQ’ed right out of the gate. Kasich=boring and the rest are just filler.
Trump is the best the Republican Party has to offer excitement wise and since they don’t do policy, he is the best that they have to offer, period.
