Discussion: Trump Insists He Never Said He Never Said He Doesn't Pay Taxes

Good point, but then you have to deduct the Trumpette segment of the viewing audience who wouldn’t have heard or acknowledged hearing Drump announce that he is Satan reborn, and wants to eat their children…

Quite agree. And I should have clarified that’s not “malignant” in the usual sense. As I understand it since about two weeks ago, “malignant narcissist” these days is the new groovy psychological term for a person who combines narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder which itself is a relatively new term for the people we used to call psychopaths and sociopaths and so on. I’ve worked as an editor with social-sciences people and they’ll drive you crazy with the ever-changing jargon. But yeah, Trump’s buggy and he’s got a lot of violent ideation going on at the very least. I will probably wonder to my dying day how anyone anyone ANYONE could consider for one moment making that freak the President.

Megalomania was my first impression, and I have found no reason to believe differently.

Kind of like walking into his own fist.

If only there were some definitive way to put the whole issue of whether or not Trump paid taxes to rest for once and for all…

Oh, wait! There is!

HEY DONALD! RELEASE YOUR LONG-FORM TAX RETURN!

I’ll make it easy for you Donald…SHOW US YOUR DAMN TAX RETURNS!

Dors everyone remember when he wanted his surrogates to say that people who accused him of racism were, themselves, the real racists, and they ended up accusing Paul Ryan of racism?

Good times.

For my money, the cocaine thing hasn’t risen past being a cheap lark by Howard Dean. There’d be people lined up in the streets to tell stories about Donald’s Studio 54 days if there were anything to tell. But I have always thought there might be something like a gambling addiction there. He just happens to exist at a financial level where gambling looks a lot like entrepreneurship.

I mean something compelled the world’s most compromised man to put himself under the world’s hottest spotlight. He’s unquestionably a narcissist, but there’s something addictive, too. He can’t stop himself even when he sees that he’s being self-destructive.

Trump supporters are not being rational. They are being emotional.
They don’t give a rats ass about the economy, foreign affairs, religion, war, terrorism, or in most cases, race.
They feel they have been “wronged” somehow by the world and they want REVENGE. They don’t care who it is carried out against, or who gets injured in the process as long as they get it. They REVEL in the idea of revenge against “The Other” (even though none of them can coherently tell you WHO that “Other” is or what they did to “deserve” it.)
They have a deep, unquenchable, boiling, unfocused anger and they feel the only way they can “lance that boil” is to “Make Somebody Pay!” and they don’t care who as long as it is not them. That is why Trump’s attacks on just about everybody work so well. It provides an outlet to their irrational fear and anger against the world.
In reality, they are struggling against “modernity” in all it’s forms and longing for “The good old days” that never, EVER existed. When pushed, they will almost always reply with something they saw on TV like “Father Knows Best” or “Music Man” as if those were documentaries.
Sad really how lost and rudderless they feel in the modern world and how terrified they are of change and Trump the master con man sees this and capitalizes on it.
Instead of “Music Man” these people should watch “Elmer Gantry” and “Judgement at Nuremberg”.

It even has a name – revanchism.

I’m just repeating stuff I’ve read but I’ve heard that recklessness (in the guise of supposed bravery) is part of the narcissist pattern.

Oh most definitely.
Trump is a textbook case of Psychopathic Narcissism, enabled by his wealth and insulation from society.
You know what the difference between a “crazy person” and an “eccentric” is? About $500K/year of income.

Rich dude who lived in my region named John Du Pont went crazy but was insulated by his wealth. Eventually shot an acquaintance dead. Died himself in prison. The family and entourage of rich crazies who shield and enable their craziness do their ward and the world no favors.

…he did not say that he never paid federal taxes…

Haven’t some of his taxes returns that had to be revealed for legal reasons from other years shown this?

No, uh-uh, not me, I didn’t take any cookies. I’m not even in the same room as the cookies. Why are you picking on me?

He is changing what he said enough to make it seem somewhat reasonable, but that is not how he answered. How he answered makes it seem like he did not. I would play the crap out of that if I were Clinton. He can say what he wants. This sort of ups the pressure for him to release his tax returns too.

He would have to prove that he paid something to get out of this. He still will not but it would be good.

Words matter, orange douchebag. Well at least they matter to a little more than half of the electorate.
