It’s another morning in America, Trump must be lying.

So I’m going to go 11-dimensional chess here and argue that trump and his people are setting up a mens rea defense to impeachment and conviction. How could someone so obviously out of touch with reality knowingly commit high crimes or anything else? (Yeah, I know, that does kinda raise the 25th Amendment question, but look! North Korean Squirrel!)

“Robert Mueller had a ham-and-swiss for lunch yesterday. This totally exonerates me.”

I remain uncomfortable, and grow increasingly uncomfortable, at the blurring of the lines between “wrong” and “illegal” and “criminal”, which are all three separate things. It’s going to take a long, long time for our popular discourse to re-establish these distinct meanings.

FBI Agent Peter Strzok, who headed the Clinton & Russia investigations, texted to his lover Lisa Page, in the IG Report, that “we’ll stop” candidate Trump from becoming President.

No surprise that DT jumped on that, but I’ve seen some vague references that there’s some context that makes Strzok’s text sound less damning than the fox crowd will admit, but I haven’t seen any specifics about that context. Anyone know what it is?

The human equivalent of squid ink, create a distraction then slink away. In this case there is no place to slink away to. The best he can do is try to find a justification for firing Mueller. It’s almost like you can see the wheels turning in his head.

He is starting to get desperate, the NY AG indicted him and his family and he is running out of options. I’m amazed that Mueller has lasted this long.

“[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!” the lawyer, Lisa Page, wrote to Strzok.
“No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it,” Strzok responded.

You know, if Strzok thought that Donald was working with the russians, I think this would be a pretty appropriate think to say.

A number of commenters have pointed that out and Strzok sould be in a position to know particulars about Russian engagements.

I think you’re right about what’s got him so wound up and rattled. Courtrooms are kryptonite for Trump, because he can’t spin his word webs there. The facts are established and lies are punished. It’s the worst possible environment for him, the most dangerous. The one thing that’s most dangerous of all is for him to be exposed in a harsh spotlight as the cheap, chiseling crook and liar he is. And in the words of commentators with professional expertise, that foundation could not have been worse. It was a “catalog” of illegal, dirty dealings. So that suit is not good for him at all.

They had the whole transcript and it seems they trashed everyone , but the cherry pickers union only lets them use certain passages.
Also missing were the texts from the other 9,999 FBI agents that you can be assured that a sizeable portion were trashing Hillary

It is a pitiful shame that none of Trump’s close aides bothered to read him the 500 page report the IG prepared, upon completing his through investigation.

Had they done so, Trump wouldn’t be making an ass of himself this morning!

I know he is talking to one of the Fox Friends, but would somebody tell him that nobody has discredited the Mueller Probe. I have to admit Comey was a pure dick in his handling of the Clinton email investigation, but that has nothing to do with the Russians and the Trump campaign.

By this time it is obvious to all that Trump’s campaign was up to its eyeballs in a conspiracy with the Russians to influence the election. Mueller’s last remaining issue is whether there is enough evidence to charge Trump personally. Given that his defense would be he is so stupid no reasonable intelligence service would think it wise to involve him, proving Trump (as opposed to Trump, Jr., Jared, Manafort and a host of others) was personally involved is a pretty heavy lift.

When he said “We’ll stop him”, I have always thought Strzok’s use of the word “WE” meant “you and me, babe”, not “We, The FBI”.

It was cute flirtation, not politics.

You sure about that?
