If Trump is going to excuse those he’s treated roughly from voting for him, that’s roughly 80% of the population.

Note the ex-candidates he’s being nice to, it tells you about his strategy in the general. He’s being nice to Cruz to get the evangelical and conservative vote onboard. He’s being nice to Bush to get Bush’s donors onboard. Anywhere that he thinks he can get an advantage he’ll walk things back…it won’t save him in the end, but this is part of The Pivot.
