Discussion for article #246289
I just had to double check to be sure I had not accidentally clicked on an Onion article.
"Look, Iām dealing with very, very talented people, smart people, good peopleā¦
Would those be the ādisgustingā ones or the āworst-liar-everā ones?
Can you imagine what Jon Huntsman thinks, contemplating this spectacle?
åæč®°äŗčæäøē¹åŖé³ć?
āLook, again, Iām competing against, you know, professional politicians, senators, top of the line.ā
If these palookas are the top of the line, no wonder the brand is getting its ass kicked by this deranged clown and his insane posse.
Uh-oh, I fear he doesnāt really want the nomination.
Shorter Trump : āCrap, I donāt want to win this thingā.
Longer Trump : "Iām just here trolling and having fun and never thought I would actually win. What the hell is wrong with you people that are voting for me?
āFuck! If I win the nomination I have to compete in the general election. I donāt want to be known as a loser!ā
Very good. But how dare you insult someoneās mother that way!
He singles out Ben Carson a smart contender. Interesting.
What theā¦? Iām getting whiplash. Canāt he at least carry the pretense throughā¦until he actually wins the nomination? Please?
So now its look I beat some very good talented people. Lets see how long that lasts before he starts calling them loser, liars not qualified againā¦my guess just as soon as a poll comes out where he isnāt leadingā¦3.2.1
Modesty is usually becoming. But Trump shreds that particular trope to bits.
I canāt believe Iām saying this - but I almost prefer him when heās arrogant and bloviating on about something. Make no mistake, heās unqualified to be President, but at least, then, heās entertaining.
Yeah, but youād sure as hell be a vindictive prick. Hopefully.
Dog whistle to his supporters suggesting that if the establishment will not concede to him, he might run third party.
Trump: All these people offer what I offer: bigotry, pipe dreams, contempt for human race(women, gays etc), wars, victimhood etc. I am however a White Jesus which republicans never had. I will take them to promise land. Only I can make Amerika great again, only me; and they know it.
Maybe. But regardless, heās in business. The BETTER bet for him is to use his leverage to gain effective control over the party itself: itās membership lists, itās big donors, the technicians and mechanics. Thatās WORTH something, and he can do a lot more of what he likes doing with just that control, over one of the only two major national political parties, than he can going head to head on a regular basis out of the White House combintion bubble and pressure cooker.
He sees a clear path to gaming control over the GOP, a shot at pulling the nomination but with no guarantee of that or of it having any real meaning, and a total abyss of expectation against HRC, who he knows well enough could whoop his butt to an historic degree. If youāre him, looking at this as an entrepreneur or investor, what would YOU do? IMO youād most likely go the surest thing, make a deal that leaves you in control of the party itself, and let one of the Cubans bust their balls losing to the first woman president.
Downplaying expectations.
