You fight back by firing Director Comey and a few days later you admit to Lester Holt the whys and wherefores of doing that. Your intention was corrupt. If Rump were as smart as he claims, heād can the Kav and name Rosenstein to SCOTUS. Rosenstein might even be a Republican whoās never raped anyone, and whoās therefore still qualified under the Kavanaugh Standard that has so many Republicans so worried about the people they would know best.

Something is very different in Trumpās demeanor the past couple of weeks. Either someone is spiking his Diet Cokes with sedatives, or he finally realizes heās walking a very thin line. That his words have real consequences for his future. Cohen and Manafort are both singing, and that has changed the narrative. I also notice that Rudy has been uncharacteristically quiet lately. Silence, a new strategy maybe?
