“Well, that, I know nothing about,” Trump said. "I mean, I don’t know about retweeting. I mean, you retweet somebody, and turns out to be a white supremacist. I know nothing about these groups that are supporting me."

Yeah, I mean you retweet someone that says, “Death to Jews” or “Heil Hitler”, and the next thing you know is that they’re white supremacists. How can one possibly know??

As Presidential material, Donald’s got the plausible deniability down pat…

Doesn’t’ seem that, when told who they are, he condemned their philosophy or their organization. It would have been nice to hear say something like now that I know who these people are I do not agree with them and do not want their support!

Ol’ Peculiar Ted will claim just cuz’ God told him to run, it didn’t mean he wanted him to win.

sorta OT, but in a nod the the political correctness of our soft-core 60’s TV era, notice Shultz’ uniform is remarkably void of any of those symbols we recognize as Nazi insigniati, without the hat he could be from anywhere…

I’m just sayin’…

He knows nothing about 'em — though their foul expulsions are most of what Donald Trump retweets.

“But I am interested to know more.” he added. “Do you have a pamphlet or something I could take with me?”

OK, but how about denouncing them now that you know? Something like, “I reject all of their hateful and racists language and theology and do not want their support.”

You piqued my interest. Just did a bing image search and noticed something. Schultz always seems to be wearing his greatcoat. None of the regular army uniform greatcoats had any Nazi insignia on them. The uniforms underneath did, but the greatcoats didn’t. John Banner was Jewish. Maybe he insisted on that.

Just saw another post. Schultze was Luftwaffe, not army. The Luftwaffe greatcoats didn’t have Nazi insignia either.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sunday that he knows nothing.

… says it all for me right there…

It’s a World War II Luftwaffe Sergeant Major’s uniform. Herman Goering, head of the Luftwaffe, insisted that the German air force be in charge of captured Allied fliers, so Schultz, Colonel Klink and the rest of the guards were Luftwaffe personnel. The theme of “good Germans” versus hard-core Nazis (e.g., the Gestapo) in Hogan’s Heroes was a s silly as the rest of the show, but Schultz’s uniform is more-or-less correct.

Can’t believe I’m defending the historical accuracy of Hogan’s Freaking Heroes.

Better than having to discuss Drumpf.

In the category of Stupid GOP Excuse:
“Well… I don’t know about retweeting. I mean, you retweet, next thing you know you’re falling back. I never retweet. Retweeting is for pussies. You retweet, and the next thing you know you are running up the flag of surrender.”

And just Bad Excuse:
“Just because I retweet something does not mean I agree with it. I often retweet stuff without reading it, and only learn of its vile nature from those who read what I retweet.”

“How could people ever get the idea that I adopt, affirm and ratify all the racist hateful stuff I retweet just because it matches the stuff I say all the time?”

The Wehrmacht (German Army) ran most POW camps, except for the Luftwaffe ones for airmen. Their uniforms didn’t have Nazi symbols.
