To put this in perspective, Trump also thought he was vindicated when he paid $25 million to settle fraud lawsuits against Trump University.
And that’s how a lapdog named Devin sold his soul…
The “somewhat” suggests that he may not be willing to go all-in on the “wiretap” lie again, but this will be enough for the rabid right noise machine to keep conflating “incidental” collection, “surveillance,” and “wiretapping,” to support their “deep state” distraction.
Distraction looks like the only card they have left to play.
excellent point
No, you are not vindicated at all. You accused President Obama of a major crime, and you were still wrong. Trump still needs to apologize to the American people and to President Obama. Nothing has changed. Preisdent Obama did not wire tap Trump illegally. Still waiting for the official apology.
Nunes should lose his clearance and be prosecuted for obstruction and revealing SCI/ECI info. Whatever happened to oversight? Total banana republic shit going on here.
Inside Trumps Head: “Whew - a little graceful cover - now we can get passed this and I don’t have to apologize like everyone around me has been telling me to do. Done with it. Behind me. And I’ll be ready to blast away (tweet) the next blow hard who brings this back up.”
Next Trump Rally: … “the greatest, the greatest ever… And can you believe that Obama had me tapped - by the Brits - sick, sick, sick. Bad.!”
Hears echoes of “Lock Him Up!” and smiles. Then realizes those chants are coming from the large loud rally outside of the large middle school auditorium.
Not to mention the lapdog of a reporter who asked that question.
Good lord but he is stupid.
“Vindicated” is not the word I would use for a person who has multiple employees and acquaintances under suspicion of belonging to a wide-ranging conspiracy to commit a historic betrayal of a superpower, and being investigated by the nation’s counterintelligence services for months in an effort that is still continuing. But that’s Trump for you. The boy ain’t right.
I feel vindicated that the investigation into my campaign has now been confirmed twice in the last 2 days!
Republicans will love listening to Trump blather about wiretapping for another week.
They’ll love the drip, drip, drip of people around Trump even more.
Well, enjoy that feeling while you somewhat can.
Who was the enabling reporter? Vindicated? Give me a break. Ask him if he still believes Obama had him wiretapped. So disgusting!
Sometimes it’s hard to defend the press when they do something like this. They have a ways to go to establish themselves as legitimate.
The phrasing of the question sets him up for a “win.” Why say “vindicated”? He still directly accused Obama of surveilling him, and everyone who knows anything says that didn’t happen.
Of course he feels vindicated; that’s what Nunes intended, to provide Trump political cover and distract from the Russia investigation. Now that’s oversight!
Ultimately, I think this is going to backfire on Nunes. I certainly hope Schiff takes it to him hard for his violations of the purpose and ethics of the committee. Time for an independent prosecutor!

A Does not equal B
Nunes’ willingness to muddy the waters only makes clear that Trump’s so-called unprecedented mendacity is not at all unprecedented. This is the way the GOP has gotten away with operating for decades, and Trump’s baldfaced approach to lying merely epitomizes it.
Ummm… Seems like Nunez giving Trump some coverage for his lie.
