Discussion: Trump: 'I Don't Think It's Inappropriate' To Ask FBI Director To Pledge Loyalty

I wouldn’t wish it on any dog I know, but I think DJT would love having a labrador retriever. They treat you like a hero just for walking in the room. That’s pretty much all Trump wants. Some service hound named Stella or Baily could just keep us from nuclear war.

Sooo smooth the lying and misdirection.

Trump can’t stand to admit any self-limitation. Denying that he asked Comey for a loyalty pledge will infuriate him, and I predict he will affirm the claim quite soon.
“Yeah, I asked him for his loyalty. So what?”

Every single day we are reminded of his breathtaking ignorance and lack of self awareness. His streak of stupifying drivel will never be matched .

The FBI Director doesn’t take an oath to support and defend the fucking Executive department, you fascist asshole.

Anyone who takes the job of FBI director under Trump now is nothing more than a tool, an underling of Trump unable to exercise independent judgment. No one with any self respect should want the job under those conditions.

Once again, Trump proves he’s unfit to be President. Might I suggest if he wants loyalty to get a dog?

That would be Lyndon Johnson’s remedy to the problem.

Trump is in real trouble on this, especially if there are tapes. It could be obstruction of justice.

I don’t think it’s inappropriate to ask the president to not obstruct justice or GTFO.

He just can’t help himself from lying. That is what I call “sad.” I really begin to think that 25th Amendment remedies will soon become inevitable. How long can the top continue to pretend this man is remotely fit to hold office??

Pressed by Pirro on his suggestion that he recorded his conversations with Comey, Trump said: “That I won’t talk about. I can’t talk about that.”

This sounds like the closest admission you could get without going straight to “Yeah, I did it.”

A crisis a day won’t keep the straight jacket away.

He won’t be happy until a mandatory Reichswehreid is in place.

Just as long as it takes the complicit GOP Congress to get (a) tax cuts for the 1% and (b) comprehensive voter suppression tactics.

We’re doomed.

Everyone will have to be put under oath.

A standard question to ask of any candidate for FBI chief at their senate approval hearing: “Have you been asked by anyone in the administration to give a loyalty oath to president Trump? Have you done so? If not, would you take such an oath?” A good lawyer would probably do a better job with that set of questions. The point is that the wrong answer would get the candidate rejected on the spot.

I believe it’s Article VI of the US Constitution that requires an oath of some sort.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend Donald J. Trump against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me Trump.”

“Number two, I don’t know how that got there, because I didn’t ask that question.”

Rule #1 with Trump: If he denies it, he’s lying.
Rule #2 with Trump: If he opens his mouth, he’s lying.

Isn’t it interesting that Trump never mentions the Constitution, even when he’s trying to pretend that he has some normal political aims? He doesn’t even know that’s part of the equation.
