And on the other side, many on the left are really, really purple-faced, vein-throbbing, pissed off at Paul Krugman, Ezra Klein and Mike Konczal because they’ve questioned some of Bernie’s approaches to issues, even though they share almost all of Bernie’s values.

This is why the GOP wins, in spite of egregiously stupid, and breath-takingly awful comments by GOP candidates like this one by Trump.

If Trump shot someone in the middle of 5th avenue, his base would do one or more of the following:

  1. blame it on Obama and/or HRC
  2. claim it was a hoax or false flag
  3. claim it was someone disguised as Trump
  4. claim it is another example of liberal media going after a Republican
  5. claim the victim deserved it

What they will not do: blame Trump or hold him accountable
