What this finally does is expose the fact that starting with the election of President Barack Obama, the GOP ceased to be an actual political party, because it was decidedly overtaken by a majority of its members who are more accurately rabid ideologues, hooligans, anarchists, and low-information agitators.
I’m not saying CNN/ORC has for years deliberately designed their polls so as to maximize variation within the MOE from poll to poll, so as to generate fodder for breathless headlines out of nothing, but I am aware of no evidence that is inconsistent with that hypothesis. Certainly, if their methodology wasn’t intentionally designed to do it, it hasn’t been a thing they’ve seen as a problem in need of fixing.

Damn, I sure am relieved that all those Clinton supporters presently engaged in insulting Sanders supporters are so confident that they already have this election in the bag without earning their support.
No sense wasting our time casting a vote for a clear shoo-in! Even better than that, it’s like it works in Congress: once a bill is certain to pass regardless of an additional individual’s vote, those individuals are free to vote their conscience and their constituents instead of supporting the party line when that party line is at variance with said conscience or constituents.
All in all, that is one tremendous public service being provided by the Clinton campaign! Keep those insults coming so we’re all sure you’ve got this thing covered! Thanks!!
