First: I thought he was a great negotiator and could get things done? What happened Donny? (sorry obvious but couldn’t resist).
Second: couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of congressmen/women. The GOP enabled him and deluded themselves about working with him, now they get to face a “GOP” President attacking his own party/congress. Let’s see how long they stay onboard now that they are the ones being targeted. They were just fine when it was women/Clintons/immigrants. Hahahaha.
He signs if for ¨national unity¨, and then he turns around and slags it … for what, exactly? Where is the political upside to continuing to criticize a bill that is veto-proof?
ETA: I guess I should know better at this point than to try an ascribe some coherent political plan behind everything Trump tweets. He tweets like he defecates: sometimes it´s involuntary.
As I read the article, I had to stifle several yawns. Who knew that a Trump “twirade” could be so worthy of dismissal?
It’s such a relief someone finally got him to dial back the tweets.
Thanks, General Kelly.
If you were bothered so much, you could have refused to sign it.
Naaaww!
Winning!
I am sure that all of America will have tears on their pillows (H/T: Little Anthony) from crying themselves to sleep at night since they are so upset that Vlad will have to send back his friendship ring to his BFF Donald Trump.
And I hear that Russia is now saying there will be a trade war because of the sanctions. Yes, we’ll have to go without crude oil we are not using and WalMart will have to take down those giant displays of imported cans of Babushka Ekatarina’s Authentic Moscow Borscht they always have blocking the aisles.
Our relationship with Russia is at an all-time low…?
So does this mean they’re putting nuclear missiles in Cuba again? Because I feel like it’s hard to beat that.
For over 7 decades the Republican Party has pointed their greasy fingers at Democrats and accused them of being in league with those godless commies from Russia.
Fuck you, Mr. Trump. Fuck you with a balalaika.
But that would have resulted in a smack-down. His fragile ego can’t handle that. So he’ll go along with it in practice, but bitch the whole time. #Precidential!
This is one where I actually agree with the Whitehouse that Congress has overstepped their authority, but he has nobody do blame but himself. Trump can’t be trusted with Russia issues right now, or really trusted at all.
I just hope he’s restraining himself to tweeting and hasn’t been trashing the White House like a geriatric Keith Moon. Lots of irreplaceable stuff in there you don’t want to leave with an Anger Bear like him.
Too bad he doesn’t understand how the US government works, or he could challenge it in the courts.
Little Donnie erupts in a fit of pique as he leaves for his 17-day vacation.
Medvedev taunts Donnie.
Donnie lashes out at Congress.
Donnie considers pulling all troops out of Afghanistan.
Putin is supporting the Taliban.
…
Just a series of coincidences.
In the statements, he said that the bill was “seriously flawed” since it limits the president’s powers — the bill limits the president’s ability to ease sanctions on Russia without approval from Congress.
Trump was going to lose a veto battle. Avoiding that embarrassment is understandable. Yet he signed the bill despite serious reservations and objections. He could have let it become law without his signature, avoiding lending his imprimatur to a bill he disagreed with. This would have allowed him to say to affected nations "Hey, I don't like it either, but I couldn't stop it, at least I didn't sign it."
Why do you sign something you object to?
Medvedev absolutely ripped Trumps face off, and this is his response?
Next thing you know, we won’t take the oil in Syria!
Venezuela this time.
Running against Congress with mid-term elections coming up and his party holding majorities seems like a sound strategy. . . . For Democrats!
Trumpy has dementia , cannot remember what he does from one day to the next .
