I had a neighbor I grew up next to as a kid, a couple of doors down, that had converted to Baha’i faith. She gave me a great t-shirt with Baha’i messages on it from all different religions on it, in all different languages. I miss that t-shirt…I wish I still had it. She was such a lovely, open-minded and empathic individual.

I don’t think you can blame Austria for this one. In the span of one week, Trump has turned and already chilly world immigrant climate into an arctic deep freeze.

The US economy cannot grow without immigrants. They are how our population increases. Our birthrate matches our death rate. Immigrants are our growth. We have a consumer economy. It grows as our population grows.
Trump’s refusal of immigrants will kill any hope he has of keeping the economy growing.
Better still, start impeachment proceedings.

There’s the moral argument and the practical argument. Both are important, but the latter is more effective because it shows how concretely counterproductive this is for ALL Americans. You can be an asshole (like most of Trump’s economic advisors) and still not want PotUS squeezing your wallet for his fantasies.
Addendum: Holy crap, the protest at JFK is huge. There might be weekly massive demonstrations until Trump resigns or is forced from office.
