It’s so refreshing to see all the media outlets taking illegally obtained private email that has likely been edited by bad actors with a stake in the outcome and publishing it as if it’s all hard evidence of criminal activity. Meanwhile, Dan Rather is still in forced retirement after airing sourced material with evidence about the 2000 Republican nominee.
No Donny…YOU are one of the most corrupt, ethically challenged and amoral person we have ever seen runny…AND you have surrounded yourself with the same type.
I can’t ralphyboy, I soooo wish I could, but, I can’t! The very fact that he’s pulling close in Florida, and ahead in Ohio rips my insides. How are people this fucking dumb? They want a grab-ass teenager in a 70 year old’s body as their fucking president? All because Hillary is, somehow, that no one on the planet can seem to articulate without hearsay, conjecture, lies and half-truths, a criminal. I can’t chill. I want nothing more than to chill, my friend. But, I can’t. We’re placing our faith in an electorate that thinks Jeff Foxworthy and Larry The Cable Guy are the funniest people on the planet. That live for cars making left turns for hours at a time. That wear “Grab Her Pu**y!” t-shirts.
I’m sorry. I won’t chill until 11/9, and when she’s called President Elect. Until then, I’m working under the President Orange Asshole assumption.
I gotta say, the way big corporate media has been handling these Wikileaks “revelations” have been really disgusting. “Have not been authenticated” is about the only thing they manage to get correct when they report on them.
There is nothing illegal, no showing of any quid pro quo, or anything else for that matter that comes close to corruption or deliberate obfuscation. Also, from what I’ve seen highlighted, most of the inside workings of both the Hillary for President campaign and the Clinton Foundation emails look to be pretty standard, routine communications about work-related issues with a variety of personalities that all have their own ideas being shared, sometimes in unsettling ways but not particularly surprising in big organizations on the whole.
This continues to be a non-story except for the fact that Russia has been behind the Wikileak leaks to affect our election. The fact that they’ve ramped up releases as election day approaches is proof they are trying their damnedest to do harm to the US. That’s how much they both want Trump for Prez, and simultaneously hate the idea of Hillary Clinton being our next President. So fuck them. And fuck our media for enabling them in this way, or any way. The most salient point in all this…is, they really should be addressing foreign interference as the prime story, since time and again, they really haven’t proven to be the bombshell they were hoping for. All the same, the accusations keep coming. And just like years of Benghazi hearings, seven of them at taxpayer expense, once Hillary becomes President, this is the GOP’s next asinine project to try to bring her down. Count on that, since the GOP has forgotten how to legislate anyway.
The media should have an ethical standard in regards to their journalism in not aiding and abetting a foreign government in this tawdry smear campaign. The Feds have already concluded that’s who is behind this. Period. But I guess they need a “both side-ism story” to put up against Trump’s absolutely batshit crazy conspiracy theories, innuendo and ongoing lies just to make this horserace appear its closer than it actually is.
They’re not necessarily dumb; they could just be poorly informed. Some are so by choice, but others have that forced upon them. Some 18 year old first time voter may have been raised in a home that only watched Fox News, for example. Many women may live in homes where their husband’s control the remote. That’s not their fault.
Of course, many of them are that fucking dumb, and that is our cross to bear. We survived Ronald Reagan. We survived George W. Bush. We are capable of surviving Trump, if it comes to that. I’d like to think that we as a nation are better than the worst among us.
I admire your optimism. Sadly, I don’t share it. I don’t think we survive Trump. I truly don’t. I think the constitution gets shredded, ultra conservatism will rule the day, and that man will never leave office. He fancies himself a dictator. He’s a tyrant in the making. He’s currently Hitler, that’s right I said it, Hitler in the Beer Putsch days.
Once he tastes the glory and respect, of the power of the office he holds, he will never want to give it up. It will satiate his tremendous ego. It’s the fix he’s been looking for his whole life.
Once he tastes the power of invading a country, and conquering, as “Commander in Chief” he will crave more of it.
I know how this sounds. I know it sounds bat shit insane, but I believe this.
Everything about his personality type screams this. If he took the Myers-Briggs test, I’m sure it would prove my theory to be true. I have little doubt.
Not to mention rounding up of Muslims and undocumented immigrants, here at home.
Yeah, we won’t come back from that. At least, not forever changed anyway
Trump’s made it clear that he’s not even interested in governing; he’s going to hand that off to Pence while he goes around “making America great” again. That will limit potential damage.
We’ll be stuck with a horrible, but entirely predictable, Right Wing government, whose public face is that of a thin-skinned, narcissistic lunatic. It won’t be pretty, but I think we’ll land somewhere short of a nuclear wasteland.
I have to say that if Bill Clinton had commoditized his status as ex-President, that was tawdry, but not illegal.
But corrupt? This is pay to pay more, not pay to play.
Donors were asked to contribute to the Foundation and to pay Bill Clinton for a speech. Big deal.
I plan on it, Brother. I will be consuming copious amounts of alcohol back up at the friend’s cabin for the weekend. No interwebs, no cell service…beautiful peace and quiet. And beer…lots and lots of beer.
