Discussion: Trump Gleefully Cheers Brazilian President For Saying 'Fake News'

Only the worst people…

Always amazing how much Donald’s ego needs the “fake news” to say good things about him and anything they say about him of that he just doesn’t agree with is fake.

Here is what is “disheartening”…

(1) What he does and says

(2) How he makes us feel

And I would have to say that, as intertwined as (1) and (2) are, Trump has perfected the “art” of acting so piggish, vile, crass and crude that simply his public appearances grate on our sensibilities and even wash away some impressive victories…like the Cohen Hearings and the Manafort sentencing.

What if Cohen’s Hearing was totally unproductive?

What if Amy Berman Jackson had praised Manafort and given him a slap on the wrist?

Trump KNOWS we despise him. He revels in it and he has had a lot of practice being loathed and hated…he likes that…especially if it makes his enemies angry, hurt and disheartened.

I have said many time on this site that Mueller, as impressive as his accomplishments have been to date, cannot dominate the airwaves like Trump and–most important–cannot let on what he knows to the public (which would excite us BUT provide data for Trump’s defenders)

I wondered where Hope Hicks was working since she left the White House.

Birds of a feather . . . .

Two authoritarians together . . . .

Wannabe dictators forever.

I’m sure Bolsonaro appreciated this gift from his new best friend

The fascist authoritarian society is expanding to include Brazil. Who’s next?

Brazil’s agriculture is benefiting from trump’s trade war with China - their exports of soybeans to China doubled from 2017 to 2018.

Keeping trump happy by playing nice will help Brazil continue to fill, and profit from, the void caused by trump’s trade war.
