What a fucking jackass peddling bullshit, giving credit to Nancy Pelosi for “winning the House”. Nancy didn’t “win the House”, AMERICANS did. Just like the world isn’t all about you, winning the House isn’t all about the efforts of one person.
To Trump, Pelosi is just another mark he thinks he can con. “Think” is maybe too strong a word. Pelosi is the new leader with whom he can engage in transactional politics, and he is at the stage where he instinctively plays buddy and attempts to sink his hooks.
Obviously I think Pelosi is much too smart to fall for that.

Trump likes Nancy Pelosi, she is of his advanced age, and reminds him of the pols that his dad used to pay off in NYC to greese the wheels. He also sees her as a good foil.
Nancy is my congressperson, I think she is a great speaker, and can keep the troops in line (particularly the “progressive” ones) and will tamp down, as she has, the “impeachment fever” that was gripping the party 6 months ago.
However, she needs to make herself not the face of 2020, instead she needs to promise to step aside in say 18 months, and allow a new face to take over to lead the D’s into the 2020 election. A combo of a “new face” along with hopefully a younger inspirational presidential candidate who can motive the young (Beto, anyone?) will be the end of Trumpism.
Who do you suggest?

Yep they campaigned hard on her here in Texas and in New Mexico. “Nancy Pelosi wants back in charge and just wait and see what she has in store for you…”
I like the idea of setting an election out 18 months and letting the new committee chairmen, etc try out their new rolls. Pelosi will want Adam Schif to get the job, and I would take him anyday over the other old dudes that are no 2 and 3, but I expect that the extra exposure of being in the majority will allow few other faces raise up to the top.
Personally, I would like to see Seth Molton (MA-6) be the speaker, I think he would really put the hurt-stick on the RepubliNazi party and HairTwitler, but I think he is too moderate for the conference.
