I followed Daniel Dale’s thread. That dude needs a place at Mt. Rushmore when this is all done, or an exhibit at the Smithsonian.
This was a particularly poor attempt by Trump to change the news cycle. It devolved into unhinged rant after unhinged rant, sneering at his critics, staring fate in the face. There was no news made here. This was about projecting his fears L.Ron Hubbard style on to his base to keep them aligned while he moves the goal posts.
Having exhausted the shutdown, wall and Kim, he’s presently out of cards to play, and he’s double downing on old school fascism, talking about redefining the ‘nation’ as those who are loyal to him, and about brown people being scary. He is weak. The Dems need to proceed aggressively in the House and build up the political will to impeach. Trump is a clear and present danger even when in a weakened state.
Did he seriously do the ‘hug the flag’ shit again? And still obsessing over the crowd size two years past?
Trump said he’s “constantly” told White House press aides to “show them the pictures” of his inaugural crowd size.
Not to worry, Donnie. A lot of good people are very interested in your inauguration. People like Mueller, the SDNY, and the Manhattan DA. I’m sure they’ll want all the names, dates, and dollar (ruble) amounts.
Trump lies and says no one walked out during the speech as people file out of the room during the speech.

Trump even returned to the 2016 election, attempting to cast his call on Russia to hack Hillary Clinton’s emails — a call Russian hackers may have heeded — as a joke.
There is now evidence that Trump knew Russia had hacked the DNC, evidence that he knew Wikileaks had obtained hacked e-mails from them, and that he knew of Don Jr.’s June 6 meeting to conspire with Russia regarding hacked e-mails.
Moreover, only hours after Trump asked Russia to go look for Hillary’s e-mails, they did! Conclusion: not a joke, but instead a devious intent to conspire with Russia by cloaking an order inside a “joke” for plausible deniability.
Freak show on steroids.

Well that was… unhinged to a new level of unhinged.
He was clearly desperate for a fix from an adoring, uncritical crowd of true believers who could let him believe that he is not an incompetent failure who humiliated himself at home and around the world this week (and every week).
I feel for the poor flag that he’s desperately hanging onto, and hope the management sends it to decontamination.
