Discussion: Trump Family Aide: Some Donations To Trump's Foundation Are 'His Money'

Shorter Trump: How does it matter where my money is? Its mine. I dont pay taxes and will never do it. I save every penny to become a billionaire.

He thinks all the money in the foundation is his money. That’s the problem.

Even if this is true, it still doesn’t allow him to pay legal settlements using that money. And it still doesn’t allow him to buy artwork for personal use using that money. It just doesn’t.

Another tax dodge… Put the money in my charity (both Donald and the payee get a tax dodge) and I’ll spend it from there.

Even if this made sense, which it doesn’t, and passed the smell test, which it doesn’t, the obvious follow up is why he had them pay into his foundation rather than to him directly.

If Trump is elected president, we’ll replace that corrupt Obama IRS director with the brilliant Ms. Patton. Then, she can explain to us that a lot of the money in the US Treasury actually is ā€œMr. Trump’s money.ā€ After all, that’s how Putin does it.

Wants to run the government like a business… but has a terrible business record, and a problem with managing money?

Maybe Donald can promise to legalize slush funds for all Americans. That would fix everything wouldn’t it?

What a fool I’ve been these many years! If only I’d known that I could redirect income to a charitable foundation that I set up and controlled and then paid my bills from that account and used it for personal travel, purchases, etc. I could have saved tens or even hundreds of thousands in taxes over these decades.

No wonder I’m not a bazillionaire - I’m clearly not as smart as the smartest man in the world.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? First off, if Trump REALLY thought this way he is breaking a number of laws and for his surrogate to echo it? JHC it boggles the mind. And these nimrods ā€˜think’ they should be running the country…

That’s just dog-ate-homework laughably lame. What Trump did is straight-up self dealing, outrageously brazen and for very large amounts. I imagine his contributors would have some questions as well about using charitable contributions to pay a chiseler’s legal fees, except as far as I can tell the contributions are often extorted from contractors or are in the nature of kickbacks, essentially. There are mobsters who’ve been more respectful of the law and the intelligence of its enforcers than this freak.

Another thought: does Trump include his charity $ when calculating his worth?

Let’s see your taxes Mr. Trump. I suspect they are fraudulent.

I’d think so. If you’re including in your calculations somewhere between eight and ten billion dollars that are purely imaginary, excluding the ones in a charitable foundation would be pointless overscrupulousness.

Any evidence?

The money going into the Trump Foundation has tax benefits because it is supposed to be a non profit right? So, Trump should have to pay taxes on any money that is his personally. If it was Trump’s money it should have gone into his personal bank account for having earned which means taxable.
