Keeping digging, Donald, it’s the only way out of that hole!
Whether she is a bimbo or not, that is not the point. The point is that his retweet came right after he was questioned about his attitude towards women.
He’s quite the coalition builder. I think that, more and more, we will see the other GOP candidates (excluding freaks like Huckabee, Rand, Cruz, etc.) respond to Trump simply by maintaining a professional demeanor.
Everything Trump has shown convinces me that he is particularly unfit for the office.
I would go so far as to say he’s uniquely unfit for the office. Not that there weren’t plenty of others on that stage who are completely unfit. But even among that cavalcade of clowns his particular brand of unfitness stands out.
“Bimbo.” Where have I heard that language used to describe Megyn Kelly before? Oh that’s right, it was right here on TPM every single time there is an article about her.
True and some of us are guilty of that. But there is a big difference between posters on TMP and someone running for President of the United States.
Faux hates it when somebody speaks the truth.
Not a big Megyn fan but she’s no bimbo. This is Trump “telling it like it is” and “reflecting the people’s anger at government” – no wait, it’s a thin-skinned entitled ahole telling it like he wants it to be.
He’s right though, Fox absolutely wants him out of this race. Good for ratings, bad for the GOP, which is a quandary for them but they side with the GOP by a hair.
There’s also the second wife Marla and their child Tiffany who currently live in a black hole. Latest wife is a trophy who only gets displayed now and again
I think it’s a good question in the context of primary campaign debates, because they’re not “debates” per se but a forum designed to compare and contrast the candidates for voters and to gauge “electability”. Trump absolutely has the least-polished, ugliest persona of the slate of GOP candidates, going back decades. It’s just who he is. There are a lot of ways they could have raised the question of his history of decidedly un-presidential outbursts; this is just one of them, and I’m sure one that Kelly found particularly relevant.
Megyn Kelly’s childrens’ names: Yates, Yardley, and Thatcher
Yes, Thatcher. Those poor children.
I only know whatever I know about Kelly through coverage here at TPM, but she seems to be the Fox bimbo who has a brain and asked Christie questions which made him squirm, though smart wasn’t always the case. “By the way Santa’s white” as an example.
If Trump said that about Hillary Clinton, Megyn Kelly would be the first to defend him and say: “He was just calling her a girl…essentially.”
Megyn Kelly…She’s a cylon…essentially.
My theory: Trump’s plan was to play the disgusting Donald on TV for a while, get called out by the other candidates, then go home with a ratings bump. But he deeply underestimated the cowardice of the other candidates. No one but Fiorina had a bad thing to say about him last night. The only way out for him (he clearly does not want to be President) is over the top. If this bimbo eruption doesn’t work, look for even more.
Trump is a whiner…he cannot take criticism.
I don’t like the term “Bimbo” and I do not use it. I think Kelly is a smart woman who has the unfortunate flaws of 1) having conservative beliefs and 2) an allegiance to Fox’s way of doing business.
I frankly just found the discussion headline of “Trump Doubles Down On His Misogyny” to be fairly rich in light of how often the term “Bimbo” is used here to describe her.
Trump’s assertion that he “tells it like it is” and that he is “non-PC” is simply an attempt to rationalize and legitimize his obnoxious and boorish behavior.
I still would disagree. There are better ways to word that question. Listing everybodies dirty laundry in some sort of question is a bit low. I mean it is no less true, but I still do not like it. I could see asking trump about those various aspects in a different way.
I do not like the guy and think he is a pompous jerk of the highest order. That said, it was not a good question.
I’m officially done with “Trumprage.” Don’t care who he insults, male or female, man or beast, or who disses him in return. Even if he attacks the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu or the entire Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize Selection Commitee. If and when Trump says something about actual policy; even if it’s insanely stupid like mistaking Iran for Iraq or claiming that the State Department is too soft on San Marino, or that climate change is caused by too many farting wildebeast, I’ll make a comment.
It’s a story…What 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ladies?
