Discussion: Trump Donates Quarterly Salary To Department Of Education

Does that include his allowance from Putin?

Many wealthy elected officials work for $1.00/year. Trump donating his salary will show up as a contribution and tax deduction. One thing for sure, $1.00/yr is too much. He just sacrificed heroic transgender troops to help finance his wall.

So he symbolicaly “donated” a fraction of his official salary to a Department both he and his cultist base want to see eliminated.

Confused chaff.

So does this become a “slush fund” for Besty DeVos to use as she pleases? That kind of thing is supposed to be illegal.

He cut the department’s budget by $9B and donates $100K. That adds up about as much as his tax plan.

I’m sure there’s a bible verse castigating those who do good works only when there is public recognition . . . . still, Trump is better than Ted Cruz who advertises himself as a Christian hero and whose taxes showed he gave virtually nothing to his church or to charities. How can Republicans continue to be deceived by these flaming hypocrites???

“Keeping with his campaign promise to donate his presidential salary to various organizations, President Donald Trump will donate this quarter’s $100,000 salary to the Department of Education, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Wednesday.”

Will this supposed donation be verified? Was his supposed donation of his first quarter’s salary verified? It may well be true. But surely journalists have learned their lesson by now not to flatly accept any statements from the Trump administration, especially when it comes to claims about money. No one can possibly be that gullible, right?

I suspect he intended his donation to be in lieu of the department’s budget.

“Trump Donates Quarterly Salary To Department Of Education.”

Can we use it to buy out DeVos? Asking for America.

Now if we could just get him to pay his taxes…

Matthew Ch 6:
1 Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Makes sense that he’d give the money to an organization dedicated to eradicating public education. After all, an educated public is Trump’s worst nightmare.

In the Talmud, it is said that the highest form of charity is the one in which the recipient does not know that he has been the the subject of generosity.

I don’t think you can just donate funds to a government department. Government agencies have budget that determine their spending. They are not supposed to have slush funds.

This should raise a lot of questions. If Trump wants to donate his salary, he should just give it towards reduction of the national debt, which is a legal thing to do as stated on your tax returns.

This is like pouring a cup of water into a river in drought. Except that you caused the drought. Worthless symbolic gesture that accomplishes nothing.

WTF??? Why donate to the DEPARTMENT of Education? Donate to a charity. A REAL place where the money could do some good. How about to that ‘Backpacks’ charity so kids can EAT this summer when they’re not at school before you cut federal funding for lunches…

You know, the department run by someone with more than $5,000,000,000.
