Once again, we see this implicit normalization thing happening where the imperatives of reporting as we do it results in the lede, which is “president engages in behavior calling his mental fitness and capacity into doubt,” gets buried by the bits and pieces that can be plucked out of his word salad and treated as newsworthy in their own rights.

The real news is the facial expressions and body language of the Fox and Friends Idiot Whisperers. That is the real story, the most important news made by that whatever the fuck that was this morning.

I especially loved the point when Ainsley’s noble effort to keep her teeth clenched so her jaw wouldn’t drop ended in failure. At the 54 second mark in the clip here:

As much as I hate and loathe this guy, and I yield to nobody in that, even I cringe at the idea of this babbling lunatic talking to Mueller’s people, just as one human being would at another’s mortal danger. The child who fell in the gorilla enclosure was safer moment to moment than Trump would be. It would be a slaughter.
