The significance of this is that the Trump Organization may have potential liability as part of the cover up of the illegal payment to Daniels. At minimum, the SDNY would be able to subpoena records and individuals. They will likely find out a lot more than just the Daniels matter.
The SDNY is probably well ahead of the game here, and I suspect this is why Trump is doing nutty stuff like professing his gay love for one of the worst human rights abusers in the world. A lot of Trump’s nuttiness has been obscured by the sociopath that is Kavanaugh, but if you listen to Trump over the last 3 or 4 days, he’s taking the crazy to 11. It’s not because of the Congressional elections either. This has to do with #trumprussia.
Another key point is that this is the first time that Eric appears in this particular saga. His only other appearance is on the NYAG investigation of the Trump Foundation. If Eric is one of the officials who ordered Alan Weisselberg to make illegal payments to obscure/hide the Daniels matter, he gets indicted.

Well, Daddy’s wife at the time wasn’t Mommy, so I assume Eric was ok with it. I’m sure there is no love lost in this nest of vipers called the Trumps.
