Discussion: Trump Denies Having Anything To Do With Dividing America: I'm Not President Yet!

Why hold a press conference when he is so very articulate in a live puff piece “interview”?

That’s a modern day form of communication. I get it out much more faster than a press release.

The evil side of me does want to see these people get every single thing they voted for.

I imagine Trump bringing back hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs, only to have them filled by children. Children make cost-effective employees, you know.

Misery could befall the nation and Trump wouldn’t pay any price for failing to deliver on his promises. The rubes that like him and voted for him will believe it when Trump tells them it’s all the fault of Obama, liberals, Democrats in Congress, etc. Trump will remain blameless. He actually likely stands a better chance at reelection if everything goes to shit.

“You need my leadership even more than you did in 2016!!! Who knew it would take eight years to repair the damage Obama did?!”

There are a few things trumpf can and will do, including ignoring and breaking treaties, making odious SCOTUS appointments, but what he will never do is bring back manufacturing jobs. We knew they were fools for believing this, but we’ll be proved to right.

@steviedee111 There was mention of Joe Biden being interested in running in 2020. He’ll be 78 and no less acceptable to trumphoards than Hillary was.

You mother fucking son of a bitch you had plenty to do with THIS. Sandy Hook is personal to me. Both my kids went to school with Lauren Rousseau. http://www.wfsb.com/story/33997732/feds-woman-made-death-threats-to-sandy-hook-parents

Donnie, does that comment mean you are planning to divide America after you are sworn in??
edit
Here’s a little OT gem that shows trump has zero conception of how the office he is about to assume operates:

The POTUS does not control the market in any industry such that he has personal control of prices that are charged. This guy thinks he’s a fucking dictator.
And here he thinks he isn’t dividing America. What a fucking asshat.

“[Twitter] is a modern day form of communication. I get it out much more faster than a press release."

It’s great! It’s the perfect medium for an ignorant son-of-a-bitch. Nobody can ask me to explain anything or point out when I’m lying.

Asking a narcissist to be self-ware is asking him to self-immolate!

Self-immolate would be preferable.

You are probably familiar with me posting that people can be convinced of anything. Actual evidence to the contrary is seen as an impediment to their preconceived notion. It’s a fairly well known and completely debunked and hateful theory that those 20 kids and 6 adults aren’t really dead. I hate to say what it is that would be necessary to change that fucked up woman’s mind. There are people who have convinced themselves that the Holocaust didn’t happen. If the human mind is capable of that level of denial then 26 people should be easy.
Sometimes I am mortified that I am the same species as people like Lucy Richards. Or for that matter donald trump.

Thanks for your thoughtful post. I think in many ways CT suffers a collective PTSD about Sandy Hook. Those of us who live nearby know exactly where we were when the news first broke, etc. I’m so familiar with that town that the visuals never quite go away. I suspect that’s the case with everyone who has lived near the scene of a horrible and senseless event.

By the time W was done, he had accomplished that if you recall. It took 8 long goddamn years, and they didn’t learn a damn thing from it, but the dislike of W was pretty general in the end.

I have personal experience with some really nasty events in my own life. One made the news world wide, the other you cannot find anything in print at all. The former was I was present in Prague, Czechoslovakia when the Russians showed up in 1968 with assault troops and tanks:

the other was an invasion of our farmhouse by 3 robbers who we fended off with a shotgun and a pistol.
I still hate the sound that tracked vehicles make.

But to stay on topic it’s my considered opinion that trump is as divisive as is possible to be. He isn’t gonna change. He’ll never be inclusive and “presidential”. He is rightfully called a fucking buffoon in an expensive suit. I’ll never consider him “my” President.

The U.S. government probably buys a great deal of prescription drugs. The VA, DoD, through employee prescription plans and other avenues. There are suspicions Trump twisted Carrier’s arm by reminding parent company United Technology the stake they had in Trump being a happy, happy President. I think we’ll see Trump go all Mafia/loan shark on a lot of people to get what he wants. Mugging Pfizer in the hallway on the way to their meeting will become SOP.

That’s totally the way he has done business in the past according to everyone so why would he change it? That’s exactly what it will be like.

You never do quite get passed that kind of trauma. I think it makes us both stronger in many ways and weaker in others as a result. Trump is just salt on the wound.
