It is the MOST important stuff to the Trump family. The financial rewards of his ability to attract enormous attention for PR stunts has already helped The Hair and His Heirs immeasurably.

The most extensive treatment I’ve seen of his illness makes that exact point—there’s really not a human being any more inside this attention-seeking machine. There’s a crippled, Gollum-like creature inside it, but what you’d recognize as a fellow human has withered away.

I’m really surprised they’d pick that as a good picture, or allow it to be published. It’s absolutely chilling, like the Arnold Newman portrait of Alfred Krupp. Might be a bit of lack of self-knowledge or general humanity going on there. And as a family, all their taste is in their mouths and not much is there either.

Yes. If this is how he responds to the pathetically non-assertive softballs from Matt Lauer - Today Show host and fake journalist, the thought of him sitting down for any more than 2 or 3 minutes with an actual interrogator is almost unimaginable. He doesn’t have anything to say! It’s all just a bunch of deflective, free-form, stream-of-consciousness gibberish. None of it actually MEANS anything. The problem is that he is just so relentlessly non-responsive that it takes a heroic effort to get him to (a) stay on topic, (b) answer the question, © stay at least remotely fact-specific, and (d) just veer off onto some endless word-salad monologue designed to cause you to forget what the hell we were talking about in the first place.

So it says Lauer grilled Trump about using Twitter. Did he grill Trump on what he actually says on Twitter? At some point I really, really want the media to stop reporting on Trump’s optics and focus on what he actually says and does.

The first time I saw that picture I figured Thing One had selected it (and won, due to chronological seniority) because it doesn’t emphasize how much taller Thing Two is than he. Being the oldest and the shortest has to be a real problem in that family, even if you are the one who got Daddy’s name.
