In many ways Mr. Trump is following the GOP playbook. When conservatives are caught saying or doing something wrong they never apologize. They either lie about it, impugn the motives of the accusers or say that ‘the Dems/liberals do it too’.

Kind of OT, and INAL, but wouldn’t Nunberg telling Trump about what he leaked achieve the opposite of deniability? Hmm. Maybe it’s not a legal question, but the statement at least seems to fit the “logic” of Trump and his minions.
