Too late, Trumpp. The bullet train project transferred the debt to another entity with no assets, so the debt forgiveness will be income for an entity that can’t pay taxes. California will keep the loss on its books, though, and use it to reduce taxable income in future years.

That’s how government would “work” if it was run like one of the Trumpp businesses was.

I love that even at the federal level Donald believes assets are mine and liabilities are someone else’s. He’s fuckin amazing to observe.

As a Californian who pays a fuckton in taxes to Donald (I guess) I’d like all the gold back. I would then like any cent that goes towards helping any state I don’t like. I’ve been through 42 of them and Nebraska, Kansas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas (Especially West), North Dakota, Indiana, Georgia, Most of Tennessee, West Virgina, Both Carolinas, Iowa, Missouri, Louisiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Florida owe me. Then I would like a conversation about why Florida even exists at this point and why we keep funding the rebuilding of homes and businesses onto a Coral reef slowly being taken back by the sea or dramatically being reclaimed by huge annual storms.

Then I would like to remind Don that many Californians would like to build a wall along our Eastern border. Take the military bases as payment for debts the US government owes us and tell the rest of the 45 to the east of us to kindly fuck right off.
