Discussion: Trump Defends Son: 'Many People' Would Meet Russian Lawyer For Dirt

Trump said he “didn’t know” about his son’s meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya “until a couple of days ago.”

And the underbussing begins. Tough luck, Fredo.

Oh come now, Donnie. We didn’t just fall off the turnip truck. You were the head honcho in your campaign. Nothing happened without your authorization. He came right to you with the email, and you said, “Yes! Do it! Fantastic!”

Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable. Lock him up.

You guys, I think Donald Trump might be not very smart.

Or even smrt.

First, you don’t ask Putin if he did it. You trust our intelligence agency 100% and say “I know you did it and you better not ever do it again.”

But then Pootie might not love him anymore.

2,220,300 of Americans are incarcerated, 4,751,400 are currently on parole for crimes they’ve committed. Thats “many people.”

It’s nice to know that our president has a heart for those “many people.”

Of course, the Donald would defend his son’s action. He raised Junior to be just like himself. This is how the Donald thinks. It’s his life.

Sorry Donnie. We’re not talking about “many people” here. We are talking about the eldest son of a presidential candidate. A candidate who is now our so-called “President.” whose family and especially his eldest son & daughter are active in his administration. Different rules apply, and Donnie Jr., if not you and others, broke those rules.

So suck it up and acknowledge that you’re screwed.

And there we have it, folks. The President* of the United States saying treason is OK as long as he benefits from it. This conniving coward was clearly involved and is now roasting his own kid to save his rather ample hide.

The thought that “many people” would work with a foreign adversarial government to gain advantage in the US Presidential election reflects a world view that is incredibly disturbing. It appears that, in Trump’s view, ethics are for losers and winners are justified in doing anything for personal gain. I knew that Trump was not one to speak to our higher angels, I never fathomed the depths of his darkness.

Of course “many people” would do it, Trump can think of three off the top of his head. What more proof do we need? (And in Trump’s mind, 3 = “many,” which may also explain why he always insists he’s so rich despite evidence to the contrary.)

“I said, did you do it? And he said no, I did not. Absolutely not,” Trump said. “I then asked him a second time in a totally different way. He said absolutely not.”

Wow, so he asked two different ways and got the same answer. Well, that settles it!

Trump is smart, he knows that KGB training is such that you only learn to deny once. After that spill the beans.

Why does this Russia thing make us mad? It’s not cause we’re democrats and it’s not out of some inchoate ‘hatred’ for the Whiner Clan. To sound corny, it’s because I’d put my country over ‘winning an election’ every single time. And I will bet anything I’m not alone in feeling that way. Quit trying to make all of us as unprincipled as YOU.

It doesn’t matter what he thinks anyone else would do, although previous occurrences prove him wrong (Gore campaign). What matters is what Junior did was definitely wrong and most likely illegal in terms of violations of campaign finance laws.

Instead of jumping in with both feet, he’d be better off zipping it. There’s still so much more to come and I highly doubt that nothing came from this meeting.
