Discussion: Trump Defends Kim’s Brutal Regime: ‘He Doing What He’s Seen Done’

Trump’s response to Greta’s question isn’t word salad. It doesn’t even meet that standard. But the gist is clear: “I approve.”

“Look, he’s doing what he’s seen done, if you look at it,” he said. “But, I really have to go by today and by yesterday and by a couple of weeks ago because that’s really when this whole thing started.”

OMG is this guy serious?

Yesterday, today a couple of weeks ago is when what started?

WHAT IS HE TALKING ABOUT???

He just spews words - pure nonsense and it qualifies as an answer.

If Justin Trudeau wants to get back into Trump’s good graces, he should open up a few well placed concentration camps in Alberta or feed members of his cabinet to mountain lions. I guarantee Canada will be our #1 ally in no time.

I am really going to enjoy the belly laughs I will get watching the GOP apologists twisting themselves into Gordian knots trying to justify this one!

“Look, he’s doing what he’s seen done, if you look at
it,” Trump said.

If only we applied that standard to Saddam Hussein, 4400 dead American service men and women would be alive today and we would have saved $3 trillion dollars.

Where are all the Ronald Reagan worshipers to talk about promoting freedom and Democracy around the world? We’re just about at that part in the movie where we go from being a Republic to turning into the Empire.

A country is real estate. You get the real estate from your daddy and you run it the same way your daddy did.

Oh, they got this!

Obama shook hands with Raul Castro. OMG :scream:

Can’t wait to see how Trump’s supporters will act when they realize he has been played.

The Castros are lightweights next to the NK crew.

What makes you think that realization will ever come to them? I can hear “He’s playing three-dimensional chess and you don’t understand his brilliance” even now.

When you want to blithely ignore the past and declare a new reality starting whenever this is a way to do it, I guess, but even so he’s yadda-yadda-ing gulags, slavery, brutal executions of relatives, assassinations, and the freshly buried body of Otto Warmbier, no longer useful as a political prop.

And, of course, if some black kid stole a candy bar from a 7/11 and his lawyer told the judge the poor kid has been living in poverty his whole life, just like his parents and his grandparents, Donald Trump and the GOP would say that his cruel past has no bearing on his current behavior, and that his theft merits punishment to the full extent of the law.
So, apparently, according to Trumps defense of Kim and North Korea, the kid should have stolen all of the candy bars, and then shot everyone working at the 7/11 and all of the customers in the store at the time. That way, he would get off scot-free!

Truth.

And do you think that matters?

“Anybody that takes over a situation like he did at 26 years of age and is able to run it and run it tough — I don’t say he was
nice, or I don’t say anything about it,” he said."

Moral judgements, totally unnecessary when sitting down and making deals with despots with blood on their hands. Why go there, he did what he did, just didn’t know better. Lets forget the past, get over it and work on the present. Just imagine this guy when he hits 30, he is going to be great. Right now he is just a big, goofy kid with a weird haircut needing a little guidance and understanding.

Or that is what Putin put in the talking points.

The talking point seems to be “it’s a good start”. I’m seeing this on a lot of message boards posted by trumpers.
