I think they should all run separately in the general. You know, give the Republican base a real choice this year.
Kasich said he’ll wait to “see what happens.”
“I have got to see what happens,” he said. “If the nominee is somebody I think is really hurting the country and dividing the country, I can’t stand behind them.”
Which, I suppose, is his way of saying that he couldn’t support either Trump or Cruz.
Picture an NFL team. They start the summer with three quarterbacks on the roster. A competition in preseason results in one being named the starter. The other two quarterbacks make it known to the rest of the team the starter doesn’t have their support, can’t depend on them for help, and they publicly announce they think he’ll be the cause of losing games. Everyone would agree what you have is one really effed up football team.
“Trump would be an absolute trainwreck, I think it would hand the general election to Hillary Clinton.”
Ahh, okay.
That’s why their field is so fucking weak. They thought they were smarter than Obama and they think they’re smarter than Hillary, and Bernie.
The general debates are going to be a hoot.
Even worse if it was the offensive linemen.
I further pledge…
- Republican Party Loyalty Oath
Til death do us part.
- Marriage vow
I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully…
- Presidential Oath of Office
Republicans are men of their word.
Trump: “Oath? What oath? Pledge? Contract? … What are you talking about, ya’ losers? I use contracts for toilet paper. I never signed a pledge. May Gawwd’ strike me down if I did!”
Exactly. Let the people decide.
This is the best possible news for the Democratic Party, and for the nation. The less united the Republican candidates are, the more disjointed and dispirited the already fissured GOP base will be.
I love the smell of Republican fratricide in the morning.
My concern is that this is happening in March/April. On the one hand we could be talking about open warfare between rival GOP gangs (but I repeat myself) by the time the convention rolls around. But on the other hand, a few billions dollars in the right place and they could patch this all up and by midsummer no mainstream reporter would even remember there had been a bitter primary season.
OK, that’s a bit harsh. But it is hard to imagine how they’re going to sustain this level of tantrum for another 3-4 months.
Everyone would agree what you have is one really effed up football team.
In other words, the Redskins and the Browns.
Reince is a sad guy
Perhaps if they all end up backing away, all three of the remaining GOP contenders will eventually fall off the cliff George W set their Republican clown car towards?
Go ahead and break a promise, Donald. Nobody expected you to keep it except for your brain dead followers. Fascists pledge allegiance only to themselves.
If you parents hung that ridiculous name around your neck, you would be sad, too. Trump is just the latest baggage he has to carry.
Gosharootie. Republicans breaking promises. I’m underwhelmed.
He has the GOPee in a bind: If it denies him the nomination. he can run 3rd party, or denounce the nominee.
Either way, it’s landslide Hillary.
" I promise to support the republican nominee for President if he is orange - has a lard butt - a foofy combover - stubby digits - a hot foreign wifey - a huuuuge ego - will build walls and stick it to anyone who disagrees with him —
I really really will … It’ll be very very very big … I really really mean it —
Pledge.
They keep using that word. I do not think it means what they think it means.
