One of his ghostwriters tweeted the other day, amid the uproar, that most people don’t realize how very stupid he is and how little overlap there is with normal humans, so they judge him as if he were like normal people and fail to understand him. I think that’s part of this today. It’s ridiculous. No sensible person could possibly accept this as an explanation. He’s like a dull-witted child, caught in a misbehavior, telling ludicrous stories in an effort not to be punished. But that’s happening in the aftermath of a geopolitical scandal that’s unprecedented in history. “I meant to say ‘wouldn’t.’” All you can do is shake your head.
