I believe Trumpâs unpopularity is the most significant factor in the midterm elections.
Correct me if Iâm wrong.
You go Donnie. And when they tell you these things are not possible or are a bad idea to talk about at this time donât you believe em. Some will say you donât have the guts to force these issues but I say you do. Yesiree, yes you do. You go.
The basic elections weapons of the GOP remain intact. We see from yesterdayâs Hungarian elections (which in recent years have supplied the basic script for right-wing parties in Europe and North America) that these weapons are just as potent as ever. What is interesting is that Orban will use the mandate of his election to exact revenge on the opposition. Such behavior from the GOP or Democrats was unheard of earlier, at least until the recent tax bill that socked it to 12, mostly coastal Blue states to the advantage of mostly Red states. Moreover, I think it is fair to assume that if economic conditions or international relations go tits-up, the GOP will not be there to accept responsibility.

Spanky is exacting revenge on Obama for making him the butt of some jokes at a WH Correspondentsâ Dinner; McTurtle is exacting revenge for Obama getting elected a second time in spite of him and his band of co-conspirators to make Obama a âone term president.â Koch and Co are exacting revenge for Obama and others making the little people feel like they are important.
EVERYTHING in this (mal)administration is about revenge. Thatâs its raison dâĂȘtre.
Yes. It looks pretty unremarkable in isolation. But there is a difference. In the past, at least pre-Young Gun Era, the GOP has walked away from its failures or incompetence using a negligence argument: âWho could have known we would have a massive deficit when we reduced revenues? Supply side stimulus should have worked.â However, now we have seen legislation deliberately designed to hurt certain states or populations, e.g. children, women, brown people, coastal elites. We also things like Pruittâs and Tillersonâs purges of senior officials that fail to show party loyalty. We have already turned an ugly corner in our history.
A senior administration official told reporters on a conference call last week that border security could be among the biggest issues for Congress this spring and summer.
Thatâs likely news to Republicans running for re-election, particularly in swing districts or with sizable minority populations, who have shown little interest in the kind of beefed-up border security the administration has proposed to turn back unaccompanied minors and clamp down on asylum seekers.
What The Dumpster wants is to beef up the âvisibleâ crossing spots and to forget about the hazard area, like deserts, rivers, mountains. That way when people die they are invisible and since the bodies decompose and/or are carted away by buzzards and other animals quickly no one will ever see. That is Heir Dumpsterâs plan, IT IS NOT BORDER SECURITY.
âThe Republican majority in Congress was on a glide path to the midterms, having passed tax cuts into law and backed off budget battles with a year-end funding package.â
A glide path? Seriously? I donât recall a âglide pathâ but lots of concern over Democratic gains.
Talk about creating a narrative.
This type of crime is a DIRECT result of Trumpâs xenophobia and appeals to violence. In no way is it unfair or partisan to place the blame directly at his feet. Trump may as well have stabbed this woman himself.
***Texas nurse stabbed after assailant called her âraghead,â âdesert monkey,â police say***

She was driving home from a late-night nursing shift at a Houston area hospital Thursday morning when her car was nearly side-swiped.
When the driver whose red SUV nearly collided with hers made a sudden U-turn along Huffmeister Road, the nurse, who wore a hijab, thought the driver wanted to make sure she was OK, according to a news release from the Houston chapter of the Council on American-Islamic relations.
Thatâs when, she says, a white man in his 20s or early 30s, with tattoos on his arms and neck, got out of the SUV with a knife.
âOh my God, itâs a raghead. Itâs a [expletive] raghead,â he said, according to the release, before also calling her a âsand n-----â and a âdesert monkey.â
She told Harris County sheriffâs deputies the man then began waving the knife at her after she tried to get back into her car. When she raised her arm to shield herself from the attack, she was cut on her arm.

What? Trump is being nitpicky and not giving Mulligans to his Republican allies?
This is the only accomplishment I can see Trump has made for his fake Christian Right baseâŠallowing the Third Reich to operate out in the open, while appointing âjudgesâ blind to its bigotry and barbarism. We can impeach them, too, when the time comes.
How must fascist Donald and his Republican enablers hate that the Constitution was written to protect all peoples and federal authority. White supremacy has now fully become the legacy of the GOP in a world that has become increasingly tan and yellow.
Itâs like Donald has been shipwrecked on an island with a bunch of white conservative cannibals.Lucky him.
No, Trump came here to make money. Period.
Glide path as in crashing landing onto an airfield without any landing gear.
The GOP tax cuts turned out to be duds. The Wall has became a constant source of jokes for even its supporters. Republican tariffs and their tax bill are already causing inflation, a recession and American job loses. Donald has hired Bolton to plan a nuclear winter for much of the Northern hemisphere. And Putin is still cyber attacking Americaâs national security at his hackers invade our power plants, water treatment facilities and voting machinesâŠwith Trump looking the other way for his buddy.
Cracks are even forming within their unholy Republican Christian Coalition at the state and local levels. Yesterday, the Archbishop of St. Louis said the Catholic Church was going to fight the new Missouri state laws that allow guns in churches and schools and that The Church will provide even more sanctuary for immigrants. Pro life has finally taken on itâs true meaning in the American Heartland again.
So if itâs so easy to glide into the Midterms on these rotten laurels, it should be even easier for the Republican Party to glide right out of power in Congress as the Resistance builds against massive conservative incompetence, cowardliness in the face of a foreign Russian invasion and self-righteous hypocrisy performed by most public of AltRight sinners.
âHe came to shake things up.â
He sees what is coming in November,at least in the House. He might can bully House GOPs but good luck with bullying Speaker Pelosi.
Great analogy.
I agree he views the Presidency as an opportunity to make money, but I think that is not the entirety of his motivation for seeking and winning it. Trump is a stone cold racist. He and his father faced court sanctions and mandates due to unfair rental and sales discrimination against minorities back in the 70s and 80s. Trump called for the death penalty for innocent black youths AFTER DNA exoneration of their crimes. A complete reading of the last 45 years of Trumpâs life is replete with racist views and practices. Heâs worn out a dozen dog whistles. And now he can spout his garbage with the office of the Presidency backing him, with the added bonus his hatred actually does damage to the races he reviles.
Iâd go so far as to say hurting minorities may outweigh the importance of his revenue stream at this point in his life.
