Discussion for article #242790
Love it! More infighting among the losers.
It´s becoming more and more obvious that Trump and Carson are falling apart like meteors hitting the atmosphere. So that leaves Rubio and Cruz as the likely pretenders to the R nomination? Lord love us.
In Evangelical-speak, did Trump just call Carson gay?
“Mr. Trump likes Dr. Carson, but Mr. Trump has resentment when he sees Dr. Carson rise,” Williams told CNN. “He lashes out like he did tonight and resents Dr. Carson’s continued rise and Dr. Carson (getting) the attention of the press and American people.”
A coded reference, and probably a justified one, to Mr. Trump’s appealing to racists. I’m sure Armstrong Williams was equally vocal when Donald Trump was suggesting that Obama was born in Kenya.
I am embarrassed for my country…
To be noted: Fiorina’s dull, stereotypical, wordy response. She can’t play the game, or, apparently, hire the right people to play it for her.
Brash, strutting Trump has got the perfect rhetorical style for appealing to. what, 1/8 of the voters: nasty, brutish, and short. Remarkably, his tranquilized anti-type Carson does almost as well.
Carson is sick with the incurable pathological and I oppose mother-hammering!
Fits beautifully on a tweet. Too long for a bumper sticker though.
Would someone please buy Mr Trump a dictionary.
I never thought he was a genius, but I never thought Trump was an idiot until now.
Donald, those people you’re pandering to? The evangelicals who like Carson so much? You can’t tell them prayer doesn’t cure a bad temper any more than you can tell them it doesn’t cure David Vitter’s low character or their mom’s meth habit, or whatever. The whole point of a self-serving come-to-Jesus redemption story is that God can cure you of anything. It is literally an article of faith with these guys that God took away Carson’s temper (assuming Carson wasn’t lying in the first place). All you’re doing is exposing that you’re not really in the tribe.
You want Carson’s supporters? You point at how we mean liberals are raking him over the coals and you tell them that they might want a nice guy, but what they NEED is an asshole like you who can get kicked off of NBC and then have them beg you to come back a month or two later.
If I’m an establishment Republican, this is the best news I’ve heard in weeks. It looks like he’s gonna blow himself up after all.
The irony here is that Dr. Carson does not have a pathological temper. He is a pathological liar. And one of those lies is that he had (has) a horrible temper.
Dumpster just called the Iowa voters idiots…that is a political NO NO He is dumber than he looks and that is saying something!
It’s a race against the clock now. Everyone’s going to tune out of politics from Thanksgiving until New Years and then the Iowa Caucuses happen. If Carson wins Iowa and Trump wins NH, Rubio and Cruz are out of time. They’d better hope the flame-out happens soon.
Carly Fiorina:
Donald, sorry, I’ve got to interrupt again. You would know something about pathological. How was that meeting with Putin? Or Wharton? Or your self funded campaign? Anyone can turn a multi-million dollar inheritance into more money, but all the money in the world won’t make you as smart as Ben Carson.
There are just so many levels of delusion, self-delusion, irony, and surrealness embedded in that quote that I don’t even know where to begin. I mean, if a comatose gerbil moderated an intelligence contest between Donald Trump, Ben Carson, and Carly Fiorina, the gerbil would win.
I’m beginning to believe that Dr. Carson performed lobotomies on all the GOP Presidential candidates, before turning the knife on himself.
Ben is certainly pathological.
I think both Trump and Carson are getting more and more desperate to lose.
Because no way are either of them serious candidates. They are only here to grift.
What’s becoming clear is that Trump has caused at least some of the candidates to sink to his level–insulting comments, focus on personality rather than issues, etc. Fiorina’s comment is typical.
Between Trump’s asinine statements from the inception of his campaign, his compulsive tweeting of insults against everyone who has criticized him, his and Carson’s fact-free blatherings in attempting to respond to issue-based questions, Fiorina’s constant attempts to portray herself as a secretary risen to the CEO level, and every one of the GOP candidates displays of ignorance about policy, blatant pandering to the worst impulses of the conservative movement and their absolutely shameless and constant lying, the political discourse on that side of the aisle has been degraded terribly. Not a single one of these candidates appears to be Presidential or at all prepared to take on that responsibility.
I don’t feel like Trump has really changed much. He jabs at everyone else, gives vague answers, and complains about questions he doesn’t have good answers for as attacks. Carson hasn’t so much changed as much as we’re just seeing more of who he really is from old info that was in his books about his “wild” side and he’s being asked more detailed questions that he’s got no or twisted answers for.
