Discussion: Trump Claims It Would Be 'Appropriate' For Him To Ask Barr To Probe Biden

What happened to " spy"? It’s a perfectly good word. Maybe " probe" has… deeper meanings for tRump.

He may have confused “appropriate” with “predictable”

Unfortunately, an out of control President would not be met by a principled AG that would shut him down at the mere suggestion. Maybe others in DOJ would but not Barr.

We knew that about Trump in 2016. He made that very clear.

Just imagine how sleazy an idea must be for somebody like Rudy Giuliani to consider it not advisable.

Claims without evidence that Obama spied on him, publicly calls for first of who knows how many investigations on any threat in 2020. Guess not holding the house means he should interfere with DOJ.

Trump told Politico he had not spoken to Giuliani “at any great length”

How long does it take to rehearse “Nice country. Did you know Donnie and Vlad are BFFs?”

So it’s not OK to do business with a foreign country while one’s father is running for President?
So it’s not OK to do business with a foreign county on energy deals while your FIL is President?
So it’s not OK to hire someone to investigate, spy, or probe someone’s child has foreign business dealings?

Are these rules written down some where, like on Trump’s cuff?

OK. Joe Biden’s son is doing business with a Ukrainian energy company. So what?

Wasn’t this the first article of impeachment for Nixon? Directing law enforcement against his political enemies. Do we need any more evidence of corruption here? A normal crook would be laying low post Mueller. This clown brags about his criminality. The entire R party is both craven and corrupt. If Obama had even been rumored to have considered such a thing, just imagine.

But the difference is that Nixon did this shit behind closed doors, Trump on the other hand does it out in the open. If you do criminal acts out in the open then they’re not criminal. Why is this so hard for liberal snowflakes to understand?

. . . and Joe Biden is a Democrat, so IOKIYAR does not apply. (Again, they are merely trying to sow confusion to either reduce enthusiasm for a Democratic candidate or at least create the false impression that such dealings are perfectly normal, in the hope of covering Republican misdoings.)

So then it’s appropriate for your “political opponents” (and you’ve indicate that includes ALL Democrats) to “investigate” your businesses, etc., for political purposes. Right, fucking moronic POS? You use the power of the DOJ? We’ll use the power of Congress.

It’s unimaginable, actually. He only canceled the Kiev trip because the blowback got too hot.

There is no abuse of power or illegal act too low for these scum. I honestly think they’d be A-OK with crimes of violence so long as these couldn’t be traced back to them. Consider Trump’s incitements to violence at his Nuremberg rallies and his claims of no connection when journalists or Jews or blacks (or a white woman in Charlottesville) get killed.

There is no bottom to their cesspool.

exactly. being proud of your criminality seemingly vaccinates it against charges of criminality.

Then it would be “appropriate” for Obama to “spy” on him.

OT, but I’m really beginning to wonder if there isn’t some hidden connection between Russia and the Federalist Society. They really seem to be working toward the same end, which is to create an atmosphere of political chaos in this country, strong enough that this nation’s entire political system collapses, a la the USSR. Think that’s too far-fetched? Witness the NRA. And Jill Stein.

The joke that the main objective of GOP since Reagan has been to transform us into a Banana Republic has become a sad reality.
