Discussion: Trump Campaign Was Deeply Co-opted By Russian Influence Operation

Shorter: Trump and his henchmen were Russian pawns. Willing pawns.

:sigh: Trump and his people were too stupid to collude, but they would have done so if they knew how too.

and they’d do it again in a heartbeat now that they know they have the complete and total backing of the fascistgop, faux news, and much of the corporate media.

Too dumb to collude, looks like I had it right.

Also, I’m seeing a resurgence of “this happened on Obama’s watch, he’s the traitor!” posts by conservatives. Showing how the Trump campaign was a pawn of Russian intelligence is a great way to refute that BS…“if Trump and company had just notified the FBI of their Russian interactions the Obama administration could have done something about it” is the perfect comeback to that line of reasoning. It makes it even more choice if they were unknowingly helping the Russians…after all, Trump and company try to present themselves as the smarted people around, unknowingly doing Putin’s bidding makes them look like the chumps they are.

Without the corrupt assistance of a foreign nation, Donald Trump would have lost by more.

Naw. Barely bright enough (or with smart enough lawyers advising them) to maintain the wall of silence long enough to outlast the main investigation. Took a few losses, but basically protected the core.

The under reported story here is how the Russians used fake Facebook and Twitter accounts to start rallies and armed protests here in America and they only think it’s a PR crisis if anyone talks about it.

Facebook shut down my Doctor Biobrain and Schmoctor Schmiobrain accounts just because I couldn’t prove those were my legal names, but any old Ivan Q Ruskie can start Texas Pride and Black Lives Matters Facebook groups in hopes to throw both groups into combat against each other and Facebook only appreciates the growth and chance to advertise.

As Olivia Munn once quipped: “It’s not cheating if it’s in the ass.” The Trump campaign basically opened the door to allow a foreign power to sabotage our democracy but, hey, no specific law was broken so nothing to see here.

Not sure if it’s hunger or something deeper, but I first read that as “prawns.”

While Mueller was unable to prove collusion, it being difficult to obtain info from any Russians,
Trump certainly tried to prevent Mueller from investivating it.
Trump having obstructed, it is a certainty that he colluded.

“Trump Campaign Was Deeply Co-opted COMPROMISED By Russian Influence Operation”

STOP USING PUSSYWORDS. POTUS IS FUCKING COMPROMISED. PERIOD. THAT NEEDS TO BE THE NARRATIVE ACROSS THE BOARD.

Let it sink in. Swish it around in your mouth…do that silly wine inhale while it gurgles around in there…BUT SWALLOW IT. ACCEPT IT. There’s no spitting this out. Anything short of Dems and liberals ramping up a massive messaging camapaign that the POTUS is COMPROMISED and demanding that a COMPROMISED POTUS be removed from office is just pissing in the Nile and a total failure. CUT IT OUT. No other result is acceptable or should be considered even remotely fathomable. You think this gets any better while he’s running in 2020? That the repeat won’t be worse if he’s allowed to get away with the first time? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I was busy all day and haven’t been able to follow things too closely let alone read the report, but there seems to be this trend emerging of portraying the report as claiming that because Trump’s apparent and repeated attempts to conspire with Russia and later obstruct the investigation into this didn’t go far, he’s off the hook.

I don’t know if this is what Mueller said or suggested, or just the media spin of what he said or suggested. But, sorry, if you fire a gun at someone, it doesn’t matter if it’s empty or has blanks or misfired or you missed. If you thought it had live rounds and you pointed it at someone and fired, you committed a crime. Various crimes in fact. A crime isn’t a crime only if actual harm resulted. That’s not how it works.

Again, I don’t know if Mueller is saying this, or just some of the reporting. But it’s bullshit either way.

Dunno about that. Asking a foreign country to hack into your opponent’s email or to release already hacked emails sounds like treason to me, or thereabouts. I think that, stupid as he is, he knew he was committing various crimes. He just didn’t care and expected to get away with it. Still does. Still might. Our justice system (like most if not all) defers to power and money (especially if male and white).

They sure seem to have succeeded in getting lots of lefties to work against their own self-interests by turning them into Stein-voting, Bernie-or-bust, Hillary’s as bad as Trump nimbots. I like Bernie, have issues with the Clintons, and am sure that Ms. Stein is good on various issues, but I’m not an own-goaling imbecile who goes by the mantra of the lesser of two evils is still evil, so I choose pie (even Chomsky thinks that’s bonkers). The right doesn’t have a lock on stupidity and dogmatism and Putin knows that and exploited it.

Also, why wasn’t there mention of the Trump campaign’s crime of misprision, knowing about various crimes and not reporting it to the feds? That’s going to be a major part of Dems’ investigations and hopefully impeachment. It’s back-door treason: Are you for America or are you for yourself and Russia? You can’t be both.

Losing more than 3,000,000 votes… jesus. That’s “also-ran” if ever I saw it.
