When this was reported yesterday there was a lot of hand wringing on “our side” about sinking to their level and staying above this sort of thing–and I get that.
But what I love about this is that, as far as I know, Howard Dean has no official or unofficial affiliation with Hillary’s campaign, he has, pretty much, disappeared into the woodwork for most people after his fatal scream, yet as a former candidate can get some air time–in that regard, this was a pretty brilliant attack. Comes out of nowhere, but still has some media credibility and smacks the Trump camp with exactly the kind of “I’m not saying, but I’ve heard…” BS that Trump has been dealing since the primaries.
Is it petty? Sure, it is. Is it effective? Well, it’s at least noteworthy. And it is certainly karma & schadenfreude-liciuos. Do I feel guilty loving this? Maybe a little…but not all that much.
The pot calling the kettle black. He and his campaign found no compunction making wild accusations about Hillary’s health. Having said that I don’t think Dean should be pushing this meme
“Governor Dean’s comment was beyond the pale and has no place in our important political discussion,”
Declared without a single shred of irony. Or of acknowledgment, tacit or otherwise of the accusations this very same month of HRC fatal illness, of HRC’s complicity in RAPE, of a 30 second non-disavowal of the Birther rumor you rode for several years to political relevance (in the Right wing fantasy world).
To be fair, he did the same thing when he spoke the first time using the teleprompter in a speech. Sounds like he’s just sucking wind, because he talks so damn much. (Tiny little nostrils?) I think it’s distracting but ultimately not indicative of a coke problem. Dean is wrong here and I’m not sure what the purpose of the statement was other than to give Trump a taste of his own medicine, as others here have pointed out.
Well, of course they don’t recognize facetious trolling. In case you haven’t figured it out: All those times you thought they were doing it themselves they were actually serious.
Complete amateurs. Why would they take an oddball accusation from a little known former governor and blow it up into the main topic of discussion in the media? Maybe they are on coke.
I agree that Dean should of just played it off as a joke and giving back a taste of his own medicine and just moved on from there was surprised to see him keep going with it when they talked to him.
I’ve been telling my friends the same thing, the debate is not the first time he’s done that. Whenever he gives a speech you hear that strong sniffing. I mean I don’t care that people are pounding him with it, but it is not something that is new.
I’ll lay even money that Scott Baio is his connection. Or Katrina Pierson who, BTW, reminds me of a great joke I heard years ago on “MST3000”: “Divine: The Early Years”.
And speculation about Trump’s cocaine usage isn’t going to matter much longer anyway, because on November 9th he is going to start mainlining heroin, along with Chris Christie, who won’t be getting that presidential pardon he is hoping for if the Great Orange Temple of Smegma ascended to the gold spray-painted throne.
hahahahaa same old drumpf he and his shitporters sure can put all the conspiracy theories out there but they sure as hell cant take it when it’s aimed at them…it sounds like their the desperate ones…oh by the way I have heard he WAS on cocaine I heard it from many many people so you know it must be true
I believe it was Michelle Obama who’s advice is that when they go low, you go high. (No pun intended.) The problem with Dean’s statement, and certainly with repeating it is that it opens the door to the Trump grievance machine and it’s a perfect “both sides do it” excuse for Trump’s behavior. You want to help defeat Trump or do you want to chortle about him getting a taste his own medicine?
