The height of hypocrisy…
Trump Jr:
They will lie and do anything to win
Not sure I’d call that a “height”. “Nadir” would more likely be my choice.
But I am buoyed by my certainty that somewhere there is a sealed indictment with Don Jr’s name on it.
It’s only a matter of time, now.
The collusion is clear. The conspiracy is clear. The cover-up is clear. The obstruction is clear. The witness-tampering is clear. The lying to the American people is clear. The quid pro quo with Putin is clear. The fact that Trump is compromised, is clear.
Clear to the public, I mean. Mueller knows 100 times as much as we do.
The only thing that isn’t clear, is what the craven party of Republicanism will DO with Mueller’s report. The glaring difference between Watergate and Russia-gate, is Nixon had some sense of having/saving his legacy. Thus a few R-Senators were able to convince him to resign.
A narcissist like Trump is unlikely to be persuadable to resign.
And so…
Impeachment proceedings MUST be started. There’s just no doubt. Even if it is unsuccessful, the truth must come out about Trump and his enablers.
We’re living out the Manchurian Presidency. Even the ultra-stable and circumspect Jon Meacham is fed up.
so if they indict the whole kit 'n kaboodle, including drumpf family and all their enablers, filthy senators and a rash of other treasonweasels (Hannity!), while then issuing a report, I won’t be as upset if we have to tussle a bit with the shitbirds to get it released (adding), if there’s even a report at all.
Well, Trump and Giuliani made the mistake of whining about the cost and length of the investigation. Would the media/voters then allow them to scuttle the final report, therefore making it a complete and utter waste of time and money?
I doubt it.
Look, even if they manage to keep it under the purview of Congress alone, it is SURE to be leaked. In its entirety. Count on it.
“I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press,” Trump said.
An interesting point embodied in that statement, Trump seemed to have “the press”'s number as well as Russia’s. And so it played out.
Hell tolls for thee, Donnie…
And the difference now is that Trump has never been on a team, as in the Republican team, because he’s always in it for himself. The Republicans in and out of Congress don’t hold sway with him because he’s the top dog, the big enchilada, or as I like to think of him the biggest stinkiest piece of cheese-and we all know the cheese stands alone.
Drumpf: I didn’t HAVE a campaign.
Collusion may not be a crime but there’s only one very small degree of separation between collusion and a crime. It rather depends on what you collude with someone to do.
collusion [kuh-loo-zhuhn]
noun
a secret agreement, especially for fraudulent or treacherous purposes; conspiracy:
Some of his employees were acting in collusion to rob him.
Law . a secret understanding between two or more persons to gain something illegally, to defraud another of his or her rights, or to appear as adversaries though in agreement:
collusion of husband and wife to obtain a divorce.
18 U.S. Code § 371. Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud United States
If two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.
“Russia, if you’re listening …”
That number may be low by several orders of magnitude.
Timing is so important …
We know that the Trump campaign was in bed with the Russians. What we do not know, and what will be key to any attempt to impeach is whether Trump himself was involved in soliciting help from the Russians or in making promises in return for such help. That’s the next step, and it’s vital.
Oh, I think we know.
One overlooked feature of Mueller’s letter of appointment is that it instructs him not only to investigate any “coordination “ between Russia and the Trump campaign but also any “links”. Coordination is not the be-all and end-all here. The mandate to uncover secret links reflects the now quaint idea that it’s wrong for presidential candidates to have secret mutually beneficial dealings with our chief adversary, period, even if those dealings don’t involve schemes to swing the election.
Trump Rule #2: Always projecting
that’s the one that stuck out for me too
It’s a good article, but the flaw is saying that no one thought Trump could win in late July 2016. Before the Dem Convention Trump and HRC were tied in polling composites and the trend line from the prior 4 weeks was in Trump’s favor primarily because of the Comey press conference and the GOP convention.
Regarding the FBI’s Stone take down and that it was probably because they wanted to get his devices—The NYTimes piece Josh refers to says Stone used WhatsApp becasue he thinks it’s encrypted but this exchange between Ed Snowden and a Russian encryption expert says otherwise:
Key point in article for me is that WA can turn off e2e(end to end) encryption remotely. Which means the Mueller/NSA have been listening to Roger this whole time and want the phones and computers as evidence it was his phone and computer they were listening to.
All I did was google whatsapp and edward snowden. If anyone on Trump team had googled ed snowden in 2015 or 2016 they probably would have gotten away with most of it.
We have a Russian agent/asset as president. Never thought I’d live to see it.
