Discussion: Trump Calls Sanctuary Cities An 'Assault On The Rule Of Law' In Campaign Pitch

Unfortunately, he’s assaulted women, too.

No, attempts to coerce our local law enforcement to become de facto ICE agents is a violation of dual sovereignty, and thus the Rule of Law.

it’s the other way around. Attacking and threatening the funding of cities which are handling their own responsibilities and leaving the federal immigration laws to the federal immigration officers IS the rule of law. Cons want a small, relatively weak federal government but somehow think that nothing should actually change once they dismantle the federal agencies.

Trumpp asks: “Where is the sanctuary for the Americans citizens who haven’t seen their wages rise in years because of massive illegal immigration?”

And then, he calls out Seattle and San Francisco, two cities that are full of immigrants and that have raised minimum wages far above the Federal level.

This falls under the category of “Careful what you wish for.” Lil’ Donnie may well be experiencing the Rule of Law close up very soon.

“Where’s the sanctuary for ordinary citizens who will be robbed when the GOP passes tax cuts for the rich?”
“Where’s the sanctuary for those whose municipal water supply is contaminated?”
“Where’s the sanctuary for citizens being denied the right to vote?”

I would add, “Where’s the sanctuary for the millions of us who see the America we grew up to know, love, and respect disappearing under the dictates of a carrot-topped tyrant?”

Yes, Trump voters, get out in those hot, burning fields and pick tomatoes all day!

What a moron. Sorry MoneyBooBoo - your illegitimate justice department is an assault on the rule of law.
It is the FEDERAL government’s duty to handle immigration NOT the state’s.

Speaking of the rule of law - are you ready to die in prison? Maybe you should use this time to make final preparations before you’re hauled off to GITMO instead of ruminating on what you think is lawful or not.

The only argument for any court is - who is responsible for handling immigration issues - States or Federal. There is only one answer. Federal. it’s in the Constitution.
Hines v. Davidowitz resulted in a Supreme Court ruling taking States completely out of any regulation of immigration issues either supporting the Feds or suing the Feds

[W]here the federal government, in the exercise of its superior authority in this field [of immigration], has enacted a complete scheme of regulation and has therein provided a standard for the registration of aliens, states cannot, inconsistently with the purpose of Congress, conflict or interfere with, curtail or complement, the federal law, or enforce additional or auxiliary regulation.
The lesson here was clear: the regulation of immigration was a matter for the federal government. Any efforts to regulate immigrants where Congress had regulated—even complementary efforts—were unconstitutional.

So Trump and his butt buddies and his supporters can go start their own country somewhere in Russia and leave our nation alone.

Although that may change as they continue to dye their shirts an ever darker shade of brown.

Trump doesn’t understand that any “name-and-shame” decree from his pygmy brain is a badge of honor to a majority of sentient Americans.

Keep 'em coming, you pathetic goggle-eyed piece of shit.
