Discussion: Trump Calls Mueller Probe 'Illegal Joseph McCarthy Style Witch Hunt'

Well, McCarthy was looking for people conspiring with Russia, so he does have a point.

“… that has shattered so many innocent lives …”

Those would be the innocent lives of who? The people who worked with you who have pleaded guilty? The Russians who’ve been indicted?

“… it has proven only one thing-there was NO Collusion with Russia.”

So, support the investigation, cooperate, sit for an interview, and prove your innocence conclusively.

Why doesn’t he take out a full-page ad in the NY Times proclaiming his innocence?
Nearly 30 years after the Central Park Five, it would be a fitting bookend.

Something big is coming down the pike. He’s really freaking out.

There’s just something about a natural-born leader, isn’t there? I think it’s the calm self-possession.

Hasn’t Don Jr. been keeping a pretty low profile recently?
Also, Ivanka was barely able to keep her composure in the recent GMA interview—and I don’t think that’s just because she was caught out in a lie.

Well here is the thing; I expect nothing less.

Extremely presidential behaviour and certainly that of a grown adult

One, realize there is some slob starting his day out, sitting with this insane person, listening to his diatribes and then typing the nonsense that is showing up on his feed.

Two, felt that way for a long time. And here we are again at what looks like a boiler is about to blow. The biggest thing I have underestimated, several times now, is the ability of the Republicans and their masters to absorb his crap and enable it to continue.

But yeah, he has been freaking for weeks and is now exceeding that.

Oh, something changed. The icons are back as they should be.

When you get up in the morning and your president looks like this.

You realize something may be amiss.

I thought it couldn’t last either. I confidently predicted the system wouldn’t tolerate that much disturbance and would puke him up like a bad clam within months. I was actually pleased with the metaphor. Didn’t work out that way, did it, though? But now that we see them enduring the ongoing misery, it reminds me of a very common thing: a really bad marriage that goes on because neither party wants to deal with the pain and sacrifice of getting divorced.

Wait till you see Trump and Putin on the rocks.

Exactly! Its that box that you so eloquently describe here that the media should hammer every single time he states ‘no collusion’.

Also agree with @dave_mb , something is about to break (Friday is only a day away)

My two cents

Wonder how she’s going to tell her children that not only was grandpa in jail but their father is going, as well.

Very ironic, given that his mentor was Roy Cohn.

I’m seriously looking forward to when this idiot’s rants won’t be news anymore. Then hopefully the country can heal and have the conversation “So Trump committed treason, all who supported and protected him were traitors, and his entire presidency and appointments were illegitimate. Now what should be done about all the fruits of that illegitimacy?”

That’s the real question. We don’t have laws or procedures for such a situation. And of course, the real answer is out of the question. There were two candidates. One candidate worked illegally with a hostile foreign power to steal the election. The election should be given to the other candidate. But then you have all the judges and harm done by Trump in the meantime, not to mention the two Supreme Court justices.
