In The Third Reich in Power, Richard J Evans recounts a telling anecdote.
There was a highly publicized murder case of a man accused of killing his wife. Hitler followed the press accounts closely and was outraged when the trial ended in an acquittal. The man was obvously guilty!
Der Fuehrer sent out the order, and the man was re-arrested, re-tried, and executed - all in the same day!

I’m sure the suspect’s attorney is already drafting the motion to dismiss, maintaining that his client can’t possibly receive a fair trial anywhere in the world because the President of the United States has declared him guilty, and worthy of the most severe punishment.
