Given the format, I recognize that my ISP (Sonic. net) actually has provisioned my router with an IPv6 address (we started switching over to these when we ran out of the older, IPv4 addresses of the form “192.168.5.5”).
If you feed this into one of the many sites that do a “reverse IP lookup”, they will tell you that I’m currently in Yorba Linda, California, which is consistent with previous posts in which I claimed to be a resident of Orange County, California.
Here’s what the reverse lookup looks like:

ETA: If anyone else would like to play along at home, feel free to obfuscate your IP address by “zoning out” the last few digits to zero. This would prevent a hacker from targeting your specific gateway address, but the Address Lookup should still show the right general neighborhood. And to be clear, this is the address for my gateway to the Internet, not my specific machine. And yes, I’ll also be watching my firewall logs for “interesting” activity over the next day or two…

Well, you see, given that I’ve already given my general physical location and lots of details about my life in my previous postings that might indicate an answer to your question, I’d be a little slack to keep feeding the machine until you indicate a willingness to play ball yourself. OTOH, do you understand the implied reference in my user name? Explain and we’ll see if you can use it to deduce a possible answer to your question…

Interesting. For those following along at home, an “nslookup” (command to find out information about IP addresses and such) tells me that this is an address assigned to the hostname forpi.net, and his ISP is AlphaNet Spolka z o.o., in Czechia (formerly known as the Czech Republic). If I do an address search on “85.255.1.1” ( a single address in that block), I get:
https://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/85.255.1.1
Which tells me that the block is in or around the town of Ktis, Czechia.
So, assuming you’re not blowing smoke and just grabbed an address block at random to distract us, you’re a Czech with very definite and favourable ideas about our Donnie.

No - I was laughing the fact you assumed I was the first address in that block, and ran with it. It was supremely silly and worth making fun of. The address block, as much as I gave, was real.
But early to bed and early to rise, that’s where he’s going to fall down. He won’t be healthy, wealthy, or wise for long if he keeps posting stuff in the small hours. Maybe there’s some mistake or misunderstanding at work here. He might live in Tortuga, or Toronto, or Torrance.
I’ve had better healthcare than a good chunk of th3 US population for the last… well, forever. The ACA did nothing to help the US catch up to the rest of the world; this is clearly shown in published comparison reports by public bodies.

Actually, I ran both 85.255.1.1. and 85.255.255.255 and both came back as from the same ISP so I’ll confess to making the assumption that the whole block is assigned to the same ISP (I could dig deeper, but whatevah). So, not trying to find your specific machine (which the TPM folks could do with the logfile entry) I’m comfortable asserting that you’re asserting that you’re in that block and that it’s in Ktis. You’re either there or lying to me.
As you’ll note, I went back to obfuscate my IP address, but because you reposted my address I missed the boat on that. Given that this isn’t my physical machine, only my gateway I’m again going “whatevah”, but that’s why I added the ETA to my above post.

Horrible assumption, which shows sloppy thinking and the limits of your knowledge about ip addresses. Look up 85.255.200.20 for example.
