Some of us are sensitive about certain misspellings.
He was on OāDonnell last night (Saturday).
I was spellbound for the duration of the interview. Heās a republican who votes American and voted Democratic this year. Doesnāt get much better.
And he would not even dignify the current resident of the WH by saying his name.
I noticed that. Sullyās not making it personal, heās indicting the entire R establishment which happens to be led by the most undignified R of all time.
Perdue literally embodies everything that wrong with todayās republicans: heās morbidly obese, racist, greedy, mendacious, divisive, exclusionary, unhealthy and cruel. That pretty much sums up the average republican these days.
Beware: liberal outrage at these kinds of racist remarks is precisely what fuels Trump voters. They literally survive and thrive on our PC outrage. Even if one of them goes so far as to use the N word at a campaign rally, we must repeat the mantra, āthese are not the droids weāre looking for.ā
Point is the racists wonāt believe the walk back either. Thatās the how and why this game is played.
Iām often left wondering are these word deliberate? Do they sit down before hand with a list of racist dog whistles and go oh yeah Iām going to throw this one out if I have an opportunity? Or are they just so inherently racist that this is their normal language?
Maybe itās a little of both.
What else needs be said? Other than if the GOP keeps the House and Senate America as we have known it will have died.
From cancer and neglect.
Sonny like his cousin David our Senator is venal up to his eyeballs. But cotton picking is a common expression, generally āwait a cotton picking minuteā or 'you are out of your cotton picking mind." His usage is atypical but as much as I detest him, Southern politicians routinely use corn pone language to pretend they are regular folks.
Iāll just risk saying that I grew up in the Southeast but moved away over 40 years ago. Growing up, you heard the phrase cotton picking. I had no idea as a kid that it was racist. All I can say is I hope I never utter it now.
Yes I know in city and state governments itās based on accounting for your own time off campaigning.
This story is a loser. I fervently hope Dems will drop it. Dems already know that Rs are racist, and this story isnāt going to change anything. On the other hand, one thing that animates Rs is the belief that their language and culture is threatened by overbearing liberal censors. Minor racism gotchas donāt help at this point. On the contrary.
Trump and the Rās have gone all in on a drive-the-base strategy, and I donāt think thereās any doubt at this point that theyāll have a better-than-usual midterm turnout for a party already controlling both Congress and the presidency. We have to hope that D base turnout is even better and that we pick up a good majority of independent/swing voters. Iām taking absolutely nothing for granted about the House right now, and there are plenty of gubernatorial and Senate races that could turn on a dime as well.
Or, in the words of an old cotton pickers hymn, ā Swing low sweet chariot, coming for to make sure you racist assholes never hold office againā. Poetic and humanitarian license.
Andrew Gillum, would be Floridaās first American American governor if elected.
I am pretty sure @MattShuham meant āAfrican American Governorā¦ā
Where the fuck does tRump find these assholes? Stupid and racist, to a man (or woman).
Iām going with itās in their DNA.
