Discussion: Trump Boosts Manafort's Credibility Then Quickly Backpedals All In One Tweet

Pence continues to keep that Mona Lissa face every time he appears with the Dotard. I find this mind bobbling.

I almost feel sympathy for Melania.

Not quite, but almost.

Paul Manafort worked for Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other highly prominent and respected political leaders. He worked for me

Is Trump trying to put himself on the same level as GOP demigod Reagan and other respected political leaders or is he offering testament to just how far Manafort has fallen.

Trump just can’t help himself. He lacks the discipline he needs to survive this.

Rather, I think it’s rather funny that he identifies a group of “highly prominent and respected political leaders.” And then he identifies a second group - just himself. He doesn’t say “and then he worked of a highly ignorant and objectionable narcissist, me.” But that seems to be implied. His subconscious knows the truth of his situation and his being for office. He lies, but his subconscious can’t lie about this.

Donald Trump threw his old pal a bone

Not necessarily …

donnie will say anything … about anybody …
and use whatever means … true or not …

to hold himself faultless —

His whole point is that HE is not to blame for hiring him in the first place –

If anyone ever gets a ’ bone ’ from donnie …
you can bet it’s a secondary result from the main motive of
boosting himself first —

And if it lands in your direction … you can bet it’s already
been chewed for all it’s worth —

the weight of trump’s “baggage” was enormous. the only way around it was to declare the news industry as “fake” from the get go. facts and such are turning this strategy into a “death by a 1000 cuts”. trump is bleeding profusely. this slow motion train wreck will derail a multitude of complicit GOPs. sad.

I tend to believe Donnie on this - he hired Manafort because he volunteered to work for free. He did not really know him. He has been a scum magnet his entire life and always willing to go along with anything he thought he could get away with. Getting someone with what looked like real credentials for free was irresistible. Just like getting dirt on HRC for free was irresistible, no matter the source.

And Manafort has some Reagan lustre …

There’s really no depth to any of trump’s fart-tweets. Perhaps he’s clumsily trying to say that Manafort worked for all these illustrious Republicans so why vet him? How could we have known he was scum?

So inept, even when trying to defend himself.

Trump has known Manfort for decades—Donnie was one of the first customers for the Manafort-Roger Stone political consultancy biz.

Thanks for posting twitler’s tweets. I can’t stand to go to Twitter to read them, although there are probably funny replies.

Good analogy 'cept The Joker got into the Oval Office.

His incoherent drug-hangover induced tweet blasts are aimed at the people like those in Tampa who shouted at CNN reporter Jim Acosta.

‘CNN sucks,’ ‘go home’ and ‘fake news,’" Acosta reported.

Also, boggling.

I wonder. Trump’s tweets all seem to boil down to a single message: “Help. Stop me before I kill again.”

He hired Manafort because Putin told him to.
