Because for that small slice of sociopaths, it doesn’t matter. Destroying themselves is worth the price of admission if it means that "cosmopolitan elites’ (read: every other American who isn’t a sociopath) are destroyed as well. I actually saw on my Twitter TL a feral trumper that said, “We suffered under Obama and now you get to suffer as we did.” I was just stunned with anger.

Yeah…a couple of years ago, Sinclair bought the family-owned broadcasting company in Seattle that ran the ABC affiliate, KOMO. There has been a creeping level of right wing crap into the stations’s news. Last month, the newsroom was commended by John Oliver for playing the offensive, “must-run” propaganda “reports” in the wee hours. I’ve noticed that is now changed and we are getting RW tool/nutjob Mark Hyman during Noon newscasts.
I have really stopped watching any local programming due to this.
Will this Republican Congress (and the U.S. Press, for that matter) ever openly acknowledge that Trump needs strong impeachment, right now? Before he does even greater damage to the nation. I say no, they won’t, because the GOP has mutated in to a non-conservative, even anti-American, corrupt racket built to pursue deceptive and divisive objectives by lying to and by stoking the various bigoted hatreds of their working class base. That has been the party’s election strategy since Nixon showed them the path with his racist ‘Southern Strategy’. The GOP base since has become wholly radicalized and politically diseased by decades of being lied to and by having their bigotries stoked. It was inevitable the base would select the most radical candidate available, which, lf course, was Trump. But, if Trump hadn’t been available they would have nominated Ted Cruze, as he, let’s not forget, was runner-up.
