Discussion: Trump Blames ‘Travel Ban’ Tumult On ‘Bad’ Court

Kelly wasn’t the only one not told. There was zero consideration as to how to carry out the order, what the ramifications would be, if it would apply to people in transit with approved visas who knew nothing of this action. The airlines were not told, Customs, ICE, Border Patrol, essentially nobody was told. They were magically just supposed to know.
But as I said the roll out is a separate issue different from what the courts have done.

DT did not read the order beyond the title. He had zero idea what it involved. Or what disruption it would cause. To him the title was all and everything needed. All Muslims bad. White Christian Americans good is the extent and depth of his “thinking”. I strongly doubt (and this is truly frightening to me) that he is capable of actually reading and comprehending what he signs. He either is severely dyslexic or just functionally illiterate.

So here’s where I get stuck. Does trump actually realize what a massive clusterfuck the rollout was, and he’s just covering for it with his usual bullshit? If so, he’s just a con man and we all knew that.

Or has he actually convinced himself that he can do no wrong and the problems are all someone else’s fault? Then he’s genuinely psychotic. How scared should I be?

I think that his mental faculties are severely compromised. I think he is functionally illiterate and /or dyslexic. The latter I could forgive.
I frankly am scared shitless at the moment and wish fervently that I could bolt down some bourbon to avoid much more of this.
But not psychotic…malignant narcissism

It’s not snark that I wish an adult to be near him at all times. I really do want him to get help. But I also want him removed from office for his own good and for the sake of our country. I realize how dangerous and destabilizing that is but we gotta do this. None of this is funny or entertainment. I am being as serious as I can be.

I’d like TPM to report if his assertion that this court has its decisions overturned 80% of the time is correct. And if not, what is the actual number?

He’s believed that his entire entitled life.

Over a 10 year period, the Ninth Circuit terminated 114,199 cases.

The Supreme Court, in the past 10 Terms (as of 2010), has decided
only 175 cases from the Ninth Circuit.

Thus, the Supreme Court only reviewed 0.151% of the total number
of appeals terminated by the Ninth Circuit.

Trump got the 80% figure from Alex Jones at Infowars—of course—and it’s as phony as he is.

Actually, it turns out, he’s not wrong. 79% of decisions from this court reviewed by the Supreme Court have been overturned, which is slightly higher than average… that said, you rightly point out that represents a fraction of a percent of their decisions.
