“if you have hundreds of years of racial discrimination it’s likely that the vestiges of that discrimination linger on. And we should acknowledge that and own that.”
I love our President!

How 'bout we restrict the right to vote and BTW open carry is for whites only; ya, things aren’t good now and Trump will take us back to the good old days when, when, when…On to the next bullshit thing out of the mouth of the worst person ever: Donald J. Trump, evil personified.
I love Obama so much! HIs family too. I will miss him greatly as POTUS. Love me some Hillary too and I can do both at the same time, but boy oh boy will I miss Barack.
Let’s add the Sandy Hook and Twin Towers revisionists.
If you think of yourself as a liberal, a progressive, left of center, or in any way are repulsed by Trump, and you aren’t voting for Hillary, then you’re a typical Stein voter: a white person whose financial and social connections insulate you from the consequences of the Republican governance your vote enables.
That’s for the poor brown people to deal with.
Exactly.
He’s like too many so-called moderate northeast GOPers who mutter stuff and then fall head first into their soup after too many drinks. They look good in “go-to-hell” pants, though.
Politifact surprisingly(?) rates it Pants-on-Fire:
"Trump said, “Our African-American communities are absolutely in the worst shape they’ve ever been in before. Ever. Ever. Ever.”
Trump’s emphatic statement lacked any nuance. There is no comparison between the situation today and slavery, or the situation today and the Jim Crow era. Meanwhile, over the past half-century, African-Americans, despite consistently trailing whites, have made significant strides in life expectancy, educational attainment and other measures, and currently have unemployment and poverty rates that are near historical lows."
It’s not a crime. But Brooks’ cluelessness seems to have imprisoned him for life anyway.
I’ll bet the majority of black 8 year olds know about slavery.
Actually, during slavery, what we consider a sex crime was basically legal. I don’t get your point.
Hmmm. Loathe though I am to give Mr. Brooks any props whatsoever, I believe he may have a point. She may have a 25-point proposal available on her website, but is it too much to ask for a slogan too? I hate bumper sticker politics but in a necessary-but-not-sufficient sort of way. As the biggest Hillary fan that I personally know recently said to me, “she needs some razzle-dazzle! Her campaign is so boring!” I’m inclined to agree. Presidential elections are spectacles. Needs to be addressed in some fashion. Connect with The People on more than just policy. Inspire! But I guess that kinda ain’t her style.
Trump needs to listen to more Burning Spear
Do you remember the days of slavery?
Ok, well, here’s what I want to know then - how the hell do you know that she isn’t doing that in her rallies and her appearances around the country?
Kaep and the brothers are going to have to get to the stop-Trump part of their rage…and do it quick-like. We are running out of time. If this thing is STILL HorseRace in a month it will be an epic fail of our system of governance and the Fourth Estate.
Well said.
OReilly: Slaves were well fed; they also had Health Insurance without any deductible. They also stayed at White House.
I really do love and respect this man and will miss him dearly no matter who takes his place in January.
As excited as I am about the first woman president and I am so excited about that I can barely breathe, I will miss all of the Obamas terribly. I will miss President Obama the most - he is an extraordinary human being and one of our great presidents.
