Discussion: Trump: Bipartisan Gov't Funding Bill 'Opposite Of What I Campaigned For'

Okay then, get your Republican Congresscritters and get it done Mr. Super Duper Negotiator.

And enjoy all of the positive shit that will follow.

Odd. I thought he campaigned on the promise to release his tax returns. Or, on the idea that America would be great under his leadership. Or maybe, we would eventually get tired of winning.

To be safe, the operative word with any situation dealing with the White House is “unsure.”

I’ll be signing it, because I have a lot of confidence in the people in this room that they’re going to come up with something really good.

He’ll sign it because that’s the only skill he has, signing things others tell him to sign.

Let’s see how well that plan to blame the shutdown on Democrats works, you pinheaded weasel.

This is no longer a campaign (at least not to most of us). Bipartisan compromise is a part of (successful) governing. Obviously, he doesn’t get this, not that Republicans have exactly been encouraging it, though.

Well, he’s got me convinced. This should be quite a show. I need to go out tonight and pick up some more popcorn.

But I thought, as of a couple hours ago, he didn’t want a government shutdown?

So hard to keep up.

I have noooooooooooooo doubt he thinks that. Maybe he couldn’t get Ivanka to sit in his lap all Roy Moore-y once Kushner came into the picture.

As if any President ever gets everything they campaign on.

No doubt here at all.

@butlerknights - I guess he wasn’t listening when Obama tried to talk to him. If anyone would know that…

It’s kind of touching! This is the first time he’s ever given any indication he actually feels remorse for campaigning on a bunch of undeliverable bullshit.

“When this group comes back — hopefully with an agreement — this group and others from the Senate, from the House, comes back with an agreement, I’m signing it,” he told the lawmakers in the room, and the American public. “I mean, I will be signing it. I’m not going to say, ‘Oh, gee, I want this or I want that.’ I’ll be signing it, because I have a lot of confidence in the people in this room that they’re going to come up with something really good.”

Well. I think we can expect a government shut-down then, 'cos Kelly and Stephan Miller are gonna whisper in his ear again, just like they did last time.

What?!!! John Kennedy (R-LA) just said there’s a CR to fund the government coming from the House. There are a lot of things he likes and a lot of things he doesn’t, like cutting taxes by 14 billion dollars for the health insurance industry. He said we just got their taxes. Why are we cutting them some more.

What the fucking fuck?!!
