It is a gross violation of privacy to get between a woman and her doctor. It’s that simple.
Here’s the problem for Trump (and anti-abortion folks in general) – the procedure they object to is not done to the woman, but to the fetus. They don’t object to women having uterine scraping procedures for endometriosis, or even hysterectomies, or open heart surgery. They object to the ending of the pregnancy.
If the doctor is performing the abortion on the woman, then it’s her choice to get the medical procedure. That is what Trump is claiming now, that the person who sought out the procedure and paid to have it done is the victim of the abortion and not the fetus. The only way to justify that is if the fetus is not a person capable of being harmed.
And if that’s the case, why be anti-abortion?
So either the fetus is a life and abortion is murder and the woman sought and paid for murder, or the fetus is not a life and the woman is blameless so abortion is just a medical procedure.
Pick one, you can’t have both.
Once again, the Donald demonstrates his delusional and woefully uniformed understanding of the world in general, and in this case, of women’s health and reproductive rights in particular. Aside from every other reason to ensure that he never becomes President, he is clearly incompetent for any position of public trust. In short, Trump is a loooooooser!
Well, we do it for lots of things. A doctor can’t prescribe a woman recreational drugs, or remove limbs because a woman thinks it makes her more attractive, or bleed them in order to extract the spirits making them sick.
The government regularly gets between people and their medical providers. You may think that this situation should be legal, but universalizing the right to unfettered medical care with no regulation isn’t tenable.

It’s Donald Trump again. I can’t understand him, something about plucking chickens or something.
I’m having difficulty deciding whether Mr. Trump’s supporters find it easy to support him, because they can count on him soon changing any initial positions they disagree with, or are so selective in their hearing that only the positions they agree with, among the many he proffers, are the ones they pay attention to.
Watching Mr. Trump’s antics is a bit like what I imagine watching an 11 dimension ping-pong tournament from a mile away must be like. The ball is so small (no pun intended) and the action is so frantic that you wouldn’t know what is going on until the score is posted - in this case, in November.
He “says what he thinks” when he’s being reckless and spontaneous. As often as not, he hedges around, says he’ll “look at” the issue “very, very carefully.” And every night, in my prayers, I ask whatever gods may be to help our less good-at-thinking fellow Americans to slowly begin to realize they’re following a dilettante clown who couldn’t find his ass with both hands, much less form an opinion that a Magic 8 Ball couldn’t make a better guess at. Aaaaaaaargh I’m done Trumping for today, gonna do something constructive before I lose my own mind.
