There’s the horrible, horrible thought that a Democrat might be President again some day and use the “national emergency” ploy to implement some horrible socialist agenda like medical coverage for all or even gun seizures! After all, more people die of curable conditions and gun violence in the U.S than immigrant policy. What to do, what to do. It’s almost unbearable.

He must’ve heard Gaetz warning that a 45 “national emergency” over the “border crisis” could enable a Democratic “national emergency” over insufficient transgender bathroom construction. And the possibilities don’t end there…how about a national emergency after the next school shooting, immediate impoundment of all assault rifles? The ol slippery slope…

And would someone tell the former reality TV show host that if it’s really an “emergency” that means it needs immediate attention and action. (I have a compound fracture of my leg and a fractured skull with bleeding from my ear, and the ambulance has taken me to the Emergency Room. But I’m not looking to do emergency so fast.)

McConnell’s lack of action is interesting … I wish the pundits would emphasize how he could make this go away in 5 minutes. So Mitch has determined that the deplorables are more important than his members’ constituents? I guess so … my money is still on the national emergency next week or so.

Mixed feelings. There’s a part of me that just wants him to declare it and reopen the damn government already. But of course it would set a TERRIBLE precedent, and while the courts would probably put a stop to it, I wouldn’t take that for granted.
