Burns claimed to have held a bachelor of science degree from North Greenville University;[22] said he was a member of the historically African-American fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi;[23] and claimed to have served six years in the U.S. Army Reserve.[22] But in August 2016, those longstanding claims in his biography were disproved after CNN fact-checked them.[22]
. . . .
Later he admitted that he had lied and had unacceptably exaggerated his education, but said he was attacked because he is “a black man supporting Donald Trump for president.”[3]
He also reported that his marriage to Morgan Fairchild remains strong.
Ho-ly Shit! Democrats could actually win this seat. This guy is a freak. He consistently gets slapped around and humiliated by Joy Reid, has his mic shut off on other programs, and is recognizably, demonstrably crazy. But he’s the type of sellout who could win the GOP nod because he’s “one of the good ones”. He could get that “We voted for this one self-hating nigg-ughh-black, so we’re not racist” vote. Even though this is a R+15 district, this fool is a special kind of crazy that could put it in the D column.
I wonder if Vegas is taking bets on when he’s forced to drop out. I’ll take March 17.
Hey Shouty Preacher: Great video! Loved it! Just have a couple of suggestions. That stripey-slanty transition, I would pare the use of that one down to never. The maladjusted-TV effect doesn’t lend a note of verisimilitude, as in “This was on TV once,” it lends a note of pointless stupid. The music would be better if your campaign were about hobbits and wizards and so forth, but I didn’t hear many references to that. This may not be the year to chain yourself to Donald Trump and throw the key down the sewer. And you’re way too shouty. Other than that I loved it. [Ed. note: I did not love it.]
Off topic, but
It's Mueller time
Any democrats in case this turns into a circular firing squad?
Worked for Tim Scott.
Based on Gowdy, all this guy needs to do is scream about Hitlery’s Emails™ and he’ll be fine.
“Then the devil took him to the highest mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their riches, and said unto him, ‘All these things I will give you, if you but bow down and worship me’…”
"And Mark Burns answered, ‘Sold!’ "
Clementa Pinckney whirls in his grave.
I seriously doubt that Joy-Ann will have him on again, like, ever. He brings the batshit every time but he was especially rantcrazed when trying to defend ShitholeGate.
Before Joy’s episode ended, Burns tweeted out a selfy video saying that he and Joy were friends and she shut that notion down so fast his chins all jiggled in unison.
I have no doubt - zero, zip, nada - that this flimflam assclown makes it through even cursory scrutiny without a sex or financial scam scandal. Probably both.
He certainly seems to have Trump qualifications

…and he’s such a GOOD Christian…however, when it is pointed out that maybe he has some ‘holes’ in his narrative he goes for the jugular and tell you how rotten YOU are for not accepting him…you’re just a hater, etc. etc. He’s a real charmer.
Please jump on the Titanic, Pastor.
Perhaps you could give a sermon in place of “Nearer my God to Thee” …
from prison.
Which is why this article characterizing his lies as “exaggerating his resume” is maddening.
I think Joe.My.God got the headline right:

This guy is so full of himself, he’ll fit at home in the repub party! The following is from his bio found at WIKI!
Controversies[edit]
At a Trump rally in North Carolina, he said that Democratic presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, who is Jewish, “gotta get saved”.[8] He later addressed his statement and said he had not intended to criticize Judaism and that his remarks “had nothing to do with [Sanders’] faith or religion or conversion to Christianity.”[17]
Burns offered the benediction on the first day of the 2016 Republican National Convention. Before the prayer, he addressed the convention, called Trump a “man of God” and called on Republicans to not attack each other, labeling Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party the “enemy.” Critics of the message, including the Interfaith Alliance, accused Burns of inserting God into partisan politics. Later, he said “If I could go back and use different wording I wouldn’t have said ‘enemy,’ I would have said, ‘political opponents.’”[18]
In August 2016, Burns was criticized after he retweeted a digitally manipulated image of Hillary Clinton in blackface. Burns later stated, “I prayed that those who I offended really receive … a sincere apology,” adding that he believes that the Democratic Party uses black people for votes.[19][20][21]
Burns claimed to have held a bachelor of science degree from North Greenville University;[22] said he was a member of the historically African-American fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi;[23] and claimed to have served six years in the U.S. Army Reserve.[22] But in August 2016, those longstanding claims in his biography were disproved after CNN fact-checked them.[22] North Greenville University told CNN that Burns attended the school for just one semester and did not receive a degree. Additionally, when questioned by CNN about his claimed participation in the Army Reserve, Burns, who had served in the South Carolina Army National Guard, from 2001 to 2005, stated “the Army South Carolina National Guard is Reserves.” However, CNN noted that the South Carolina National Guard is a completely separate organization, unrelated to the Army Reserve.[24] When questioned about his attendance at Andersonville Theological Seminary, also mentioned in his biography, Burns was unable to clarify.[25] His church’s website also claimed he was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, a national historically black fraternity.[23] Burns responded that he had “started the process,” but did not complete initiation. Burns also claimed about the website: “Obviously this has been manipulated or either hacked or added.”[25] Website host Wix.com however, responded that there was no evidence of a hack.[22] Later he admitted that he had lied and had unacceptably exaggerated his education, but said he was attacked because he is "a black man supporting Donald Trump for president!
From today’s Variety: Vlad Bads Sad Ad
Burns is the Todd Akin of this year’s election cycle.
If the SC Dems put up a reasonable candidate, this seat could turn blue.
