So the President and his administration wants to take over the “evidence” impounded in a legitimate warrant issued by a Judge so they and they alone. the President and His lawyers will allow us to have the evidence they deem necessary to convict them of a crime they committed. Actually allowing the President of the United States to be a King. Oh ok Trump and company of supporters who wish and desire us to give up all our laws and our democracy because well they say so. Their King Donald Trump says so Alice through the Looking glass “cut off their heads”. lol

This allegation, of course, rises to the same high standard of fallacious reasoning we’ve come to expect from this administration and its enablers.

Speaking of taint, here we see the danger of allowing these people to pack the courts with tainted judges. Some day soon this kind of crap will be allowed. The judicial nightmare manufactured by McConnell will likely produce the most enduring damage to the country.
I am at a compete loss to understand why people debase themselves like this for clients.
And make no mistake, it is entirely possible to zealously represent Cohen and Trump and maintain one’s professionalism. Lawyers have represented the most deplorable people in American history and not sacrificed their dignity or reputation.
I have on more than one occasion told a client I would not say or file something they wanted me to say or file. Saying ‘no’ to a client is all part of it.

What a specious argument. If Cohen’s attorneys prevail, it will be the final nail in the coffin of democracy. Kind of like when the SCOTUS ruled in favor of Bush and stopped the recount.

Which is funny, because it’s really the liberals who made the conservative decision on the case. Striking down a criminal law provision that is too vague to satisfy due process requirements, is subject to abuse and represents a government overreach is pretty conservative in the traditional sense.
If they’ve done nothing wrong, they should welcome the scrutiny, instead of fighting it.
Not just professionalism. This goes far beyond that.
Apparently not all attorneys believe in the “rule of law”. This guy sure doesn’t.
IANAL, but, it seems to me, that the normal course of events is to follow the pre-existing process, and, if something is ultimately used as evidence that maybe should have been priveleged, they appeal and use the courts to do what they do and determine whether privileged material was used improperly or not. So they do ultimately have recourse if the taint team fails in their obligation.
The atlernative is for Cohen et al., to just decide that everything that’s legally interesting is privlileged by definition. And then what would have been the point of search warrant vs. subpoena? DoJ went the search warrant route precisely because they didn’t trust these crooks to produce the evidence volunatrily.

What does this mean? From a practical standpoint, I’m not sure how this works. If they both review the material at the same time, in the same room, it could get ugly fast.
